    Avatar help

Or just send it to me and I'll do the rest. :D petermontie@hotmail.com And that goes for anyone else who's avatar is a bit too grainy or pixelated. Just send me the fullsize image (and include your screen name) and I'm happy to make it better.
  2. I had issues with corrosion in the wire harness connector located right behind the drivers side rear tire.
  3. I used a bottle jack to force the arms down a bit further.
  4. Before I owned the lift, I built this in the garage using 4x6s that were previously in the landscaping and a 2x10 that I attached to the top 4x6. :D It was loosely connected to the garage so that if it bowed, it wouldn't put stress on the rafters, but the rafter would prevent it from toppling over. I used it the yank the drivetrain out of the 78 Bronco I stripped down.
  5. Throw some ideas my way! :brows: The only idea I can suggest is take some measurements of your truck and go to a junkyard and start poking your head under SUVs. Plenty of them have rear bars, you just need one that will fit the space under your MJ. But you'll need a plan of attack too. Mostly, how are you planning to attach it to your frame? That'll have a huge impact on which bar will work best. Maybe the trip to the J-yard will give you some ideas.
  6. In my opinion, 4.10s are NOT too much gear. Plenty of vehicles in this world come with 4:1 or even deeper ratios from the factory and somehow they manage. I've sold Isuzu axles that had 4.30s, I've got 3.92s in my 5.9L Dakota and some 2.5L/auto MJs even came with 4.56. The power at takeoff is totally worth any slight increase in highway rpm. :D
  7. So I guess you better get over here and pick up your stickers pretty soon, eh?
  8. Anyone know if the factory draglink in a TJ is identical to the one in an MJ? I'm assuming the tierods are the same (anyone confirm?) but the length or bends in the draglink could be off due to possible different placements of the steering box.
  9. Congrats! You just killed any hope I had! ;) Thanks for saving the trouble though Nothing says you have to use a bar from an XJ. :D

    i want one

Too poor to afford the online play. Heck, Mike and I had to pool our resources and borrow money just to get the 360 and H3. But we found a way and were doing pretty good on Legendary last night until the large grouping on Brutes on like the 4th level. And even then we were making progress when Mike accidentally restarted the level instead of reverting to the last checkpoint so we decided to call it a night at 5:30 or so. Because of a bunch of stuff coming up, we're delaying using our free online time for a bit. But when we do I'll let you know. :D Almost got egged by a passing car while waiting in line at the local GameStop. And I mean almost as in like 2 seconds. I stepped forward and a couple of them whizzed by where I was just standing. No one was hit though and they never came back for a second pass. Some of the guys brought a power inverter and were playing H2 out the back of their truck while waiting in line.
  11. There was a time when a hard rain would find it's way in the engine compartment and through the firewall to drip down the back of my fuse box in the 88. It was essentially my fault it got inside the cab because I removed the factory firewall grommet to run some new wires, but the rain was finding it's way past the weather stripping at the back edge of the hood. How does this relate to Eagle? I'm not entirely certain. I didn't get much sleep last night. Thank goodness for Firefox spellcheck. :D
  12. Have you tracked down the source yet?
  13. Sell the front skid and the t-case skid, but retain the gas tank skid if it's in good shape. The gas tank isn't very thick and it won't take much to puncture it.
  14. I've got a couple 8.8 sway bars in the garage and when the 90 goes back in for it's continued service, I'll be holding up a bar to see how well it might fit. Just for kicks. :D
  15. I think he means that he's doing an SOA and he only wants 4" total. :D
  16. I would have someone turn the wheel and see if it's binding or if it's going all the way to the steering stop. How big of a difference is it? Could your steering wheel be off by one full turn?
  17. Looks a bit pixelated. If you'd like, send the original to me and I'll shrink it better for you. petermontie@hotmail.com
  18. More than once I've used my hoist and had to move the trailer to it (like the time we were moving those enormous boulders and the ground was too soft) or the truck away from it (when I was pulling the engine in a tiny garage) because I couldn't move the lift itself. Can't imagine life without it. :D It's just so dang useful! The lack of covered/dry storage might be an issue though...
  19. Yeah, ya gotta watch those ninja trees. They can jump out and attack at any time! :D
  20. Long live the long wheelbase!!
  21. Part of me is soooo envious of you guys and your rust-free MJs, and the other part is soooo glad I don't own such a clean MJ because I know it wouldn't last long.
  22. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm
  23. Is the housing rotated to the proper spot? There are little numbers cast into the housing and it rotates to fit various gear tooth-counts.
  24. Make sure that little housing dealie in the t-case is rotated in the right orientation.
  25. I have some of everything but the 30" long decals. Send me a PM with your address and what you want and I'll get them out next chance I get. :D
