Yep, sure is. And always will be.

There'a another way if you don't want change knuckles (I didn't). You can't buy the OEM caps anymore, and there are no low profile caps; they will all stick through the hole somewhat. One solution I found is to use Mr. Gasket Chrome Dust Caps. They are just a tiny bit small, but you can cut a strip of aluminum from a beer can and fold it shim it around the inner lip of the hub and they will tap in firmly and stay forever. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-2485/overview/ They look better than the original dust caps sticking through.

Brake Conversion - Wheel Size Advise
HOrnbrod replied to Bigsarge173's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not all Jeep factory wheels are created equal internally. I've found that Canyon wheels do not clear even the smallish Ford Explorer calipers on the rear w/o a spacer, yet the Turbine 10-spoke and Ravine wheels clear just fine. -
If I'm translating this correctly it sounds like the quick-connector on the fuel rail supply line is leaking? If this is the case, you need this: http://www.jeep4x4center.com/fuel-oil-cooler-line-repair-kit-83502745.html

Now you can rough it the toe using the olde tape measure method first and see how close you come to the alignment shop's findings Pic courtesy of 87Warrior.

2 Inch Lift Shock Questions
HOrnbrod replied to Dadinator's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you don't want to spend a lot of $$ (who does?) consider a set of "take off" shocks from a new JK. I recently sold a set to an MJ guy on Ebay w. 2" of lift, and he wrote me back and said he loved them. He said they were just a little bit stiffer than the originals due to the JK's weight, but perfect. You can find these on Ebay for very cheap. Just another option......... http://comancheclub.com/topic/40579-sold-2012-jeep-j-k-take-off-shocks-front-rear/?hl=shocks http://www.ebay.com/itm/Monotube-shocks-Jeep-Wrangler-Rubicon-2013-take-offs-500-miles-like-new-/271422419032?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f32097058&vxp=mtr -
Brake Conversion - Wheel Size Advise

99 and up Grands are WJs; the wheel bolt pattern is 5 x 5". Your current bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5". So you will need wheels with a 5 x 5" bolt pattern if and when you swap the WJ brakes. EDIT: Damn Frank - you are quick............ -

You can't even post the link to your build thread? Or the post number? C'mon man. Most newbies that need this info don't know how to find your nice thread. -
There's way too much "troublesome" crap on a Renix system. There must have been something lost in the translation between the Renault Electronique and Bendix design engineers. It's a kludge system (an ill-assorted collection of parts assembled to fulfill a particular purpose) that AMC farmed out for bottom $$ in an attempt to survive a few more years. That being said, keep up the good work keeping the Renix machines alive and well Cruiser-man.

Do you have a multimeter? If so, check the fuel pump supply voltage while the pump is running at the tank electrical connector by back-probing the hot and ground pins. If you have bypassed the ballast resistor this voltage should be at or near battery voltage if the harness is sound all the way back.

That's a pretty slick way to haul pine bark.

Sway Bar Needed Or Just There To Limit
HOrnbrod replied to Spectormj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Why? If your rig is stock, I ASSume most of your mileage is racked up on the street. If so, why are you "wanting" flex? Removing your sway bar in a mainly street rig MJ will make any typical ill-handling MJ even worse than it is now. If you are involved in an accident because you couldn't get out of the way or even caused one by not making a critical turn when you had too, your a$$ is grass when they examine your truck and find no sway bar. If you do - do occasional light off-road, just get some quick discos for the bar and disco it for flex when you do. But not on the street. Save yourself a lawsuit, and maybe save a life because you could avoid an accident. Damn - I hate preaching, but in this case I'll make an exception because you seem like a decent kid and want to learn. -
