  1. As stated, for intermittent wipers you need the wiper delay module box (just plugs in the harness under the column), a multifunction stalk w. the delay feature, and a wiper switch (p/n 56000032) w. the intermittent wiper feature. Perhaps you new tilt column is missing one or more of these parts. The non-intermittent wiper switch will not work as the internal switches are different and there are not enough wires for the intermittent function. You need seven wires to the delay module for intermittent wipers. http://comancheclub.com/topic/10635-switching-to-intermittent-wipers/?hl=intermittent&do=findComment&comment=101686
  2. ^^ Good info. Less than $10/ea.
  3. Radiator plastic side tanks come to mind also...............
  4. On lifts 3" or below, there is no need to spend extra $$ for adjustable upper or lower control arms, except if your rig is used mainly off-road and you need the extra beef. The procedure to set caster by using shims to lengthen the LCAs is simple and straightforward. Plus you can use the beefier curved fixed WJ lowers to prevent rubbing with wider tires since they are the same length as the stock LCAs. Anyone who finds using LCA shims a PITA or annoying probably doesn't fully understand caster alignment. But if you want to spend extra $$ for overpriced adjustables you don't really need, by all means go for it.
  5. I like chrome more than most, but I don't like that bar at all. It's over the top - too much. But if you like it - go for it.

  7. That looks like a 1/4" NTP adapter. A 1/8" NPT hose adapter would be better.
  8. I'm sure AEV is really concerned about all the badmouth. They might even lower their prices if they read this thread.
  9. I hear you A-man - I don't get it either. The source for the wheelbase factoid is Marcus Ohms (GoJeep), whom I consider one of the most knowledgeable Jeep guys in the world:
  10. Did you check for free spin before installing it?
  11. Got an angle finder? Check the caster angle by sticking it on top of the L & R upper ball joint flats and check the positive angle. You must be sitting on level ground. Ideally it should be ~7.5* on both sides. And yes, at around 3" of lift you'll run out of room for shims behind the LCAs. When shimming the LCA forward, the oval hole in the LCA will bottom out before you lose the threads on the clevis stud.
  12. What are your L & R caster measurements?
  13. Nice. I do miss the New England fall season when the leaves change. But that's all I miss about it.
  14. Yes. The left side wheelbase is ~10mm shorter on the drivers side for LHD vehicles to help it run straighter on crowned US roads.
  15. They were great. I've purchased a lot of obscure parts I couldn't find anywhere else and they have always delivered with no problems. Always used Paypal too. But it's been maybe a year since I ordered anything from them, and with all I read from you guys obviously something has changed. :dunno:
  16. Hit and miss engine technology. Gotta love it...............
  17. The poor Chicago Cubs got eliminated from the National League Championship series tonight by losing four straight to the NY Mets. I thought this year might be the one for the Cubbies with their great new first coach Joe Madden who came over from Tampa Bay this year. But it was not to be, as usual. The Cubs last won the World Series in 1908, 107 years ago. This is the longest championship drought of any major North American professional sports team. They last played in the World Series in 1945. I'm not a Cubs fan, but I was pulling for them this year. You have to feel for the many generations of Cub fans who have lived their lives never seeing them win a championship, or even played in the World Series. :( Maybe next year..............
  18. So did mine. That's because we sent Tom the correct dimensions. He even called me back to verify before cutting because he thought it might be too long (2WD + LWB = 60"+). I've never heard of his shop screwing up a drive shaft if they get the right u-joint cap to u-joint cap length dimension.
  19. The diagram shows both the XJ and MJ items. I edited my original post to include the item number descriptions. #3. 5, and 11 are XJ only, and the lug wrench shown, #1, is the XJ one.
  20. No, you have the correct lug wrench. I just prefer the cross-type lug wrench for more leverage. Besides, it's shiney! The 3/8" rusty speed handle I show in my pic isn't part of the factory equipment either. I use that to crank the spare tire hoist up and down quickly.
  21. Good brake troubleshooting guide HERE. Try the brake booster tests.
