  1. Just seems weird, always assumed it was cardboard
  2. Well... I can't make sense of this. Looks like the base of a visor with mirror but had a dummy panel clipped into it. Has a Chrysler part number on the mount. Must have been to save on tooling? Or did the vehicle start with mirrors on all passenger side visors and then was removed as some sort of value package? Used this cover to convert a mirror base to a plain visor instead of or until a new tool could be made for the visor? Not sure I care anymore. Free plastic visor, you pay shipping (assume $15).
  3. Sold it in Feb 2020. Sick with the rust but still on the road. Here's a pic from better times, my favorite setup: chrome grille and buckets, bumperettes and export amber lamps.
  4. I have a visor that I picked up somewhere, has always felt a little thick, the fabric isn't loose but it doesn't feel glued down to a hard surface. I noticed tonight what I'm pretty sure is a mirror under the fabric. Anyone come across this before? Is this a re-covered mirror? Really tempted to cut it open.
  5. I've got one from AM-Autoparts. part # AM-15879795. Drivers side, folding, manual, paint to match. Bought new, never mounted. $32 shipped.

  7. You can get the Service Manual or Owners manual for your specific year through Bishko Automotive Literature. Typically offer CD's or reprints. They've got their own site, can also buy through Amazon or EBay...
  8. FWIW - this vehicle is still sitting on the dealer lot. I'm relieved, been watching too many Barrett-Jackson and Mecum car auctions on tv, was starting to think that everyone was spending $80-150k on cars that they'd never drive.
  9. They used to be great. Something happened 2 or 3 years ago and now, like others above, I view them as last resort
  10. Neutral Safety Switch? There's a good writeup on this site about how to remove and clean it. Can be a bear removing it, read up and have patience.
  11. Here's the sticker, conveniently broken out in three sections: Stock Wrangler + Basic AEV Pickup Conversion + AEV Options
  12. Larry - I did this swap earlier this summer and I agree the toughest thing was that damn cable (brake light?) blocking the lower left bolt. The plastic sleeve can be disengaged (with significant effort) from the bracket and then wrestle the cable out of the way. The one tip I don't recall seeing is to remove the lower dash, gives straight-shot access and visibility of the bolts. Watched a couple youtube videos of guys crawling under there, I have no idea how they got the bolts out. Harbor Freight has a decent brake bleeder kit that runs off an air compressor. If you bought your parts Booster/MC from the junkyard you can get plastic adapters from Autozone that will allow you to bench bleed the MC.
  13. Finished this project a while back. Could not find fuel filler or vent hose (MJ specific or buy-by-the-foot) around here: O'reilly's, Autozone, Napa, Home Depot, ACE, Dealer. Maybe a marine parts store or industrial supply would have it? Ended up using the Crown Vent hose after all, there is a section of it that can be made to line up with the MJ's hose, need to cut it to size and bend it (rubber so no big deal) Reused my original fill hose so I can't comment on if the Crown fill hose could be manipulated to work (IIRC there's a molded corner at the tank end that f's it up) Holding the filler neck end. reasonable pressure moves the hose to line up to meet the filler neck. If you line it up like this there is just enough MJ-useable length to route around the frame rail and end with a straight run into the tank. Final install on the vehicle was no problem.
  14. Upgraded the door trim on my base MJ from blah: to Yowza: Not to steal my own thread (bastard) but looking at these pictures reminds me, adding the under-dash lights has got to be one of the biggest bang for the buck improvements you can make. MJ's already have the harness there, you just got to get the lights and brackets off an XJ and plug them in. It's silly how much better it is with these. EDIT - stealing my thread back from myself - these panels were from a junkyard and were very dirty/greasy. Elbow grease and Turtle Wax Oxy Power Out! Upholstery Cleaner have given me excellent results on a couple vehicles now. That cleaner has far exceeded anything I've used before (cheap mass market stuff, have never tried premium detailing products)
  15. Don't get me wrong... I'm still not going to add up my receipts
