  1. The injectors should be stamped with a p/n on the body. W/o knowing which injectors you put in and their psi and flow ratings who knows what's going on. Any external fuel leaks? Are you sure the injectors electrical connectors are not crossed?
  2. So I have some questions. 1. What year/engine is your truck? 2. Which injectors did you use? 3. What does "priming the motor a little too much" mean? 4. What do you mean when you say "it feels like its flooding the motor with fuel"? Fuel pouring out somewhere?
  3. Welcome back jeepcoma, long time no see. Do check your fault codes, especially for a 21 - O2 sensor faulty. Sounds like you're shifting in and out of open/closed loop. If the O2 is old, replace it. Also check it's harness and connector for obvious "eyeball" problems since it's so close the the exhaust.
  4. With the Ford 8.8 there's no carrier break to be concerned with. Yukon sells 4.88 gears for it - they are one of the best aftermarket gear sets IMO. The front D30 has a 3.73 carrier break, so what's in your D30 now? You need to know because you will either have to use "thick" gears or buy a new carrier if your existing ratio is 3.55 or below.
  5. A rebuild will cost you at least $1500, probably more, and from what I've seen, maybe 50% of them will work properly. A friend of mine who's the owner of a local transmission shop says the AW4/A340 family of transmissions are tough to get right. You can get a new surplus guaranteed 4WD AW4 w. torque converter for around $1800 from several vendors and even Chrysler themselves. Just do a search for surplus AW4 transmissions and call the seller to be sure it will work for your application. There are both surplus 2WD and 4WD versions.
  6. How are your radiator hoses? The lower hose likes to collapse under throttle when it gets old and tired effectively shutting off coolant flow, especially if it doesn't have the coil spring inside. Take a peek at it next time it overheats.
  7. Looks good Adam. When you get a chance please grab a pic of the inside fender mounting too since this is in the DIY forum.
  8. Might look odd, but that's how the factory MJ rears fit. There's a lot of bracketry behind them. Check it out.........
  9. Then the info I sent you is correct for a stock 86 MJ 2.5L w. two V-belts according to the factory parts manual. If it's been modified :dunno: .
  10. Let's see a pic of the finished product. This is what the regulation MJ flaps look like for comparison:
  11. Rent a set of fuel pressure gauges from Autozone and do a fuel pressure test first before pulling the pump..
  12. How many V-belts does your truck have? Two or three?
  13. Did the gauges start going wonky right after you installed the radio?
  14. Very cool.
  15. Sounds like you are grounded okay. I'd do a quick test of the thermister (sensor) to see if the resistance changes. Hopefully it's that and not the gauge itself. http://www.ehow.com/how_5398454_test-thermistor.html
  16. Si.
  17. So how did you ground the body of the sensor on a rubber line? http://comancheclub.com/topic/39788-help-with-trans-temp-sensor/?hl=rubber&do=findComment&comment=400451
  18. Is this the sensor you are using? Autometer #2259? How is it plumbed to the return line from the trans cooler? Saddle clamp? On a "T" fitting?
  19. Manning better be buying the beer (and pizza) for his defense tonight. They played great and shut Brady and his pals down. Will be an interesting Super Bowl now that the Panthers just finished blowing out the Cardinals. Who'd thunk these two would be playing? Not I. I gotta go with Carolina I guess; they be rolling.
  20. Now we have to listen to Manning peddling Dominos pizza ten times daily instead just twice. :fs1: Manning and Favre are the two worst commercial whores in history. :shake:
  21. The below are all the possible belt(s) routings for an 86 2.5L. Which configuration do you have? Let me know and I can cross reference the p/n's for the correct belts. I suspect the 1-2 diagram? Image Not Found If so: Belt #1 = Dayco 15430 or Gates 7430 Belt #2 = Dayco 17465 or Gates 9465
  22. Beat ya! We got 9/16".
  23. I'm curious who told you the pump was bad. What are the symptoms? Does it run? Has it been pressure tested?
