Agree. Their tools are reasonable priced and well made. This is one of my favorite Lisle tools, their spark plug boot puller. Simple and effective..
  6. Check the Gauge fuse in the fuse block. Have you installed a new radio lately?
  7. The shift knob I had poured by a friend in clear, silver, and black epoxy w. a JeeP pin inside. It's about 2-1/2" long.
  8. If it works, no worries. I ordered some 3/8" nutserts and will use them ..............
  9. Try running the shift cable under the booster so it tucks up in the space right next to the firewall when you install. In looking at it, I think it would give a bit more cable slack. I'm just going to keep my cable over the booster as is until (if) it breaks, then install the new one under the booster. Let me know how it works out when you install.
  10. That would be great if you could snap a pic from the top inside the hood with the battery and tray gone. I haven't seen the plate from the top. Thanks!
  11. Ten pins for sure. The duck pin and candle pin ball is only about the size of a softball, so you can really hum it down the lane.
  12. You guys ever bowl duck pins and/or candle pins? Used to do a lot of that growing up in New England.
  13. If they are off the vehicle stick it in a vice and count the rotations stop-to-stop while turning the output shaft. If it's 2-1/2 to almost 3, it 99% certain it's the 12.7:1 box.
  14. Yep, it's welded in. I guess they marketed the stud panel so it could be replaced when rotten out by boiling battery acid over the years. It's drill time.................... I know they changed the battery tray a couple of times when they changed the OEM battery size and again when they added the battery temp sensor.
  15. A header would give you a little more distance..............
  16. Yes, the whole right side wheelhouse is very different in the parts manual in the 90 and below models. None of the parts are the same. But this part still may very well be welded in also. It was used in XJs all the way to 2001.
  17. The tray reinforcement piece isn't available for the 1990 and below XJ/MJ models, so I'm thinking there was a design change in 1991 so it can be replaced. I haven't pulled the fender liner to check mine yet because it's a PITA, but wanted to make sure it was replaceable for the 91 and up. Thanks Adam. #6 below, p/n 55015210
  18. This is the piece under the plastic battery tray that has the three studs the battery tray is bolted to. Two of the studs are broken on mine and I want to repair it or replace it. How is this reinforcement plate attached to the body? Bolted on or wended?
  19. Especially with the coolant being low and looking cloudy and nasty in the reservoir. Sounds like a head gasket problem. The first thing I would do is get the coolant tested for the presence of hydrocarbons. A radiator shop can do that. Also check you oil when you change it to see if it looks like a milkshake.
  20. AAARRRG - 10 pin tap. 299 is a hella game - the closest I ever had was 285. Used to bowl a lot but it's been years. With that 299 UB ready for the PBA!
  21. Read my post above and look for the alpha code on the box, and the ZJ build date. If the alpha code is gone from the box, do a stop-to-stop arc bench test with a protractor. 1992 1/2 - 1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FAST RATIO POWER STEERING GEARS YEAR ALPHA CODE ORIGINAL APPLICATION GEAR RATIO EFFORT T-BAR SIZE TRAVEL 1992.5 -1993 AL or BT Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min 1993 MN Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min 1994 AL,BT,PD,ZJ Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min 1995 JH Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min 1996 KD Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min 1997-98 WK or BT Jeep Grand Cherokee 12.7:1 20-26 0.195 Dia 43deg 45min
  22. If you had continuity from the sender wire to the oil pressure gauge + terminal with the ignition switch ON, the gauge needle would have moved when disconnect and grounded at the sender. So how did you test the wire and know the wire tested good? Anyhow, if you are sure you have a switch, get the correct sender and try it again.
  23. Very worthy, it's a great upgrade. These boxes are sought after by the 70's-80's GM muscle car guys too.
