Don't matter...........It Be Officially Ova. Good game, Clemson didn't lay down for a second.
-
It's over - Bama's just killing the clock. All due respect to the Tigers, but I was pretty confident about this one. Roll Tide ROLL!

YES!! 95 yard TD off the kickoff. That's the back breaker.............
-
It may well be - great game so far. The Clemson QB is having a hell of a game.

14-14 midway through the second quarter, and it's turning into a good ol' dogfight. Or maybe an elephant - tiger fight. But an elephant always kicks a tiger's azz...................

 My daughter in the USAF at Tinker AFB, OKC who's also a Bama grad went down to Arlington, TX for the MI State fiasco. She couldn't get off for this one though.

Load leveling system( air shocks)
HOrnbrod replied to Streetwedg's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Possibly Ed. This system was only used from 1984-86, the first three years of the XJ's life. This leads me to believe that the system didn't work all that well, or this option wasn't being ordered by enough buyers to justify it's production. Probably a combination of both. It could have even been adapted from an existing aftermarket system. Still, it would be very cool to have. -
Comanche Chief - Aged to Perfection

To me the MJ long beds look too long and the short beds too short. Bobbing a long bed 8"-9" proportions an MJ just right. -

No joy in finding the #7 sensor switch. Tried every source I know. -
I'm still chuckling over your "seat covers". Nice. The Clemson coach Dabo (The Boy in Alabamian) Swinney was born in Bama, played football at UA as a wide receiver, and was the receivers coach in Tuscaloosa for a few years until he went to Clemson. His loyalties are still with deep with the Tide. Clemson's going to lose, but Dabo will still be a winner inside.

:jump: Mike, you're cracking me up you rat-bastid. :clapping: :clapping: Good one! Sure hope the Tigers give us a better game than the Spartans.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: This system would have been much more useful in an MJ since they were the real load carriers.................. -
Load leveling system( air shocks)

You are correct. 86 and below. Which part number(s) are you looking for? #7? -
I might as well jump in too. Specs: 31" Michelins, 4.10 gears, AW4, 2WD. Everything is new in the front end (except ball joints) and drive train including wheels and tires within the last five years, ~2.5" lift. The dash speedo is calibrated, verified, and dead-on. I normally cruise the interstate at 75MPH / 2500RPM. At 85MPH the speedo's pegged and I'm right at ~3000RPM. It will climb w/o protest to 3600 RPM, but beyond that the rear end starts feeling light and I chicken out. The engine wants to keep going higher, and runs fine on the dyno up to 4800RPM. I don't have GPS, but calculating the 3600RPM speed using ratio and proportion comes out to ~110MPH. The longer LWB with a heavy shell on the back helps out I think.

Full bench (non cutout) in 5 speed mj

 I thought you were talking about the 3 speed auto the 86 MJs had... No worries - long before your time. -

Columb? Police / government package XJs had optional column shifters. Try to not use blanket statements about Jeeps because they are seldom blankets. -

HOrnbrod replied to WNY-J24's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I meant a manual "three on the tree" column shifter in an MJ or XJ. I know some J-trucks had them, and I thought I read somewhere that certain export model XJs or MJs had a similar setup. I had several 60s-70s Fords and Chevies with three-on-the-tree, and they were a blast to drive. I remember you had to double-clutch them to downshift......... -
If I were still an employer you would be at the top of the list mate. Best of luck, and stay calm.

Full bench (non cutout) in 5 speed mj
HOrnbrod replied to WNY-J24's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There is different styles of bench seats ,one has a cutout and the other doesn't . If you have a column shift 2wd you shouldn't have the cutout . If you have the floor shift , 5spd or it's 4wd it will have the cutout .try to find one with the cutout . If you move the seat forward it will hit the mini console . Adam, did the MJs (or early XJ's) ever have a 3-speed column shift? I seem to remember something about certain export models with this configuration........... -
Rear bumper differences?
HOrnbrod replied to GeorgiaJeeper93's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This is correct. But in the early 90s, the pickup truck manufacturers were mandated to supply bumpers with all the trucks they sold. As a result manufacturers of aftermarket bumpers lost a lot of their sales and went belly-up. Hercules Automotive, the original manufacturer of your bumper, went out of business and was acquired by Westin who continued most of their products with their name on it. -
They have been doing fleet exercises there all along and USN ships (and others) layover there during the exercises. Just last year a Marine boot took a lovely lady to a hotel just off Magsaysay one night while on liberty. When they started to get down to business the Marine discovered the lady was a bakla and he ended up killing her. As far as I know he's still in a PI jail and State is trying to get him out. I guess Marines don't know how to tell the difference. Lack of training and/or experience I suppose........ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Jennifer_Laude

Magsaysay Street! Ah - memories. No relative grease needed there- everything is pre-lubed. :rotfl2: I was back there a couple of years ago; it's really changed now. Since Subic became a freeport, it's all legit businesses now. It sucks, in a bad way...........
