  1. The TCU doesn't care what the engine is. But I don't know if the harness for your 88 2WD w. manual transmission has the TCU connector built-in. Also, the TCU had slight pinout variations over the years.
  2. Yes, that was a bit convoluted, wasn't it. What I'm saying is that since you have a standard tranny and no torque converter, why don't you use the NO set of TC contacts on the brake switch for your clutch? Maybe that's how it's wired anyhow from the factory for a standard tranny with cruise. I'll have to check the FSM.
  3. Not bad at all. Same color too?
  4. I put cruise into my 91 auto with components from a 96 XJ. The brake switch signal wire was already present at the cruise servo connector, it was pure PnP. Your existing brake switch already has three sets of contacts wired in the harness for cruise, torque converter unlock, and of course the brake lights. So for your clutch can't you use the existing TC set of contacts?
  5. Lots of misinformation here. 1. First thing to do is make sure your POWER/COMFORT dash switch is in the POWER position. 2. Perform the throttle valve cable adjust as described previously. If you can't adjust it or it's frozen, lube it to get the detent/slider working. If that doesn't work, replace the cable. If this cable isn't adjusted spot-on, it'll feel like the AW4 is slipping. Also crawl under and check out the AW4 TV cable bracket. It sometimes get bent, or the cable end "eye" bushing where it connects to the AW4 pivot arm is broken or missing. These can be replaced. http://comancheclub.com/topic/51298-transmission-not-responding-to-shifter-aw4/?hl=bushing&do=findComment&comment=522543 http://www.bushingfix.com/ 3. Download the AW4 maintenance manual HERE. Perform the Manual Shift Test on page 7. This should get you started in the right direction. Report back after doing these steps..............
  6. What are the details on that gorgeous sidecar? BMW?
  7. Looks like you're doing good making up for lost time.
  8. I had to watch a delayed recording as I missed the start, and it just ended for me. Holy crap! What a total collapse by the Falcons in the second half. Their defense was totally gassed. For all the people who said they couldn't beat Brady, totally true. By far the best Super Bowl game ever. It was two games; first half all Atlanta, second half all Pats. Congrats Mike.
  9. The crusty bearing cap will fit in the hole but will stick out a bit and look bad. Here's an easy fix I did: There's another way if you don't want change knuckles (I didn't). You can't buy the OEM caps anymore, and there are no low profile caps; they will all stick through the hole somewhat. One solution I found is to use Mr. Gasket Chrome Dust Caps. They are just a tiny bit small, but you can cut a strip of aluminum from a beer can and fold it shim it around the inner lip of the hub and they will tap in firmly and stay forever. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-2485/overview/ They look better than the original dust caps sticking through.
  10. It's good you were not pinned down. No matter how bad it was, it could have easily been much worse. But you know that I'm sure.... Nice looking rear shocks.
  11. SBpunk, was your wife or anyone else at home when this happened?
  12. Excellent how-to writeup, especially cutting the shift indicator window. A link for this procedure is now in the DIY Forum search index.
  13. Glad you're okay - that's always #1. It's great there was a witness and he was willing to come forth. Most folks won't do that anymore.
  14. That's a piece of it Gene. There was another link posted by Eagle somewhere that detailed the the whole MJ brake bleeding procedure per the FSM. I know not where...
  15. Then why not link to it in the DIY search index? I have no idea where it is.
  16. ..............and I just ordered the last Bosch pump for a spare. Gracias John.
  17. I just tightened a band clamp with an Allen head like the below around the pivot point. Not 100% theft-proof, but most thieves don't have a set of Allen wrenches in their pocket. It fits tightly too, unlike the above "one size fits all" lock that rattles around - read the reviews.............. Image Not Found
  18. It is when the grand daughter is here.
  19. Thanks. Yes, exactly. Satin polyurethane. It's amazing how heavy these benches are when finished, si?
  20. Damn, I'm glad you are still around to post this. Be careful under there man!
  21. You're going to love Barber's, especially if you like motorcycles. If you walk through the museum, see if the below is there. It's a modified MuZ Silver Star bike I sold them years ago. Image Not Found
  22. Why not? I do it all the time.
  23. Absolutely mandatory to have the correct FSMs for your rig for electrical troubleshooting issues. W/o it you're flying blind. Good job tracking down the harness issue.
  24. The 8-digit p/n should be on the tag. What is it?
