As I recall, factory tours were offered prior to 9/11. :headpop: Toledo currently builds the Wrangler in one of the plants-they run the assembly line 24 hours a day. The other plant builds the Liberty and the Nitro. The Nitro is getting canned this year and Jeep is announcing in the next couple months or so, what will take its place. Rumors include the next Jeep Pick-up Truck. ...and yes, the MJ was built in Toledo.

I don't think this means anything for cars sold in this country. About 50% of all vehicles on the road in Europe have diesel engines. This is a growth strategy for GM abroad.

$3.49 for 87 Octane here in Walpole, MA (30 miles southwest of Boston) ...I really don't have a problem will the price of oil increasing if it is directly tied to supply, however this meteoric price rise is NOT tied to supply, but to POSSIBLE disruptions, speculators, and greed!!!

Yeah, she goes to sleep just before Thanksgiving and I break her out in late March. ...and it's Rob.

Cheapest 87 Octane is in Norwood, MA-about 20 miles southwest of Boston is $3.23/gallon.

I'm in auto sales so there is no mystery in how the sale process works. The online price guides are exactly that-guides. The invoice price listed does not include advertising contributions that all dealers must pay on a per-vehicle basis. Generally speaking, hot models (Grand Cherokees & Wranglers) will command more money than dogs (Compass & Patriot). Also, if you have an older trade, the dealer is only able to give you what his local wholesaler will buy it for. This is where the online price guides are way off on their values. Unfortunately, the general public doesn’t have access to the online auction books to see for themselves.

As you can see from my Avatar, I'm a Patriots fan and after their performance against the Jets, I'm still reeling. But I'm also an NFL fan, so I'll be watching. Don, hard to argue with your opinion. I see a close game that can be one by either team. But, as a Pats fan, I'm pulling for the Pack.

...unless he changes his mind??? :thwak:

$3.09.9 and rising!!! What's is going to take for them to go down?

Brent, Jeep manufactured the YJ 1995 model year long and introduced the 97 TJ early so their really wasn't a time you couldn't go in and buy a new Wrangler. And for extra points...Jeep was dropping the 4.0L into the YJ, ZJ, and the XJ in the mid 90's. The engine manufacturing plant couldn't keep up with the demand so they put the engine on restriction for almost the entire 1995 model year of the YJ. :fs1:

I doubt this test mule is anything other than just that. What is promising is that Jeep is working on something.

A good read on why Jeep is moving in the right direction http://autos.aol.com/article/jeep-is-ba ... nder-fiat/

I've owned my MJ now for 38 months and it stranded me a total of ONE time-internal slave cylinder went while I was over 75 miles from home on a Sunday in the middle of the winter. Had to get her towed and paid a shop to fix her. :( The other side of the story, is that she has been extremely reliable because I've also spent almost $10K in this time span to fix, replace, repair, & update just about every part you can think of! :ack:

..and if they drop the new Pentastar 3.6 V6 engine in , it will have about 280-290 HP with gas mileage at about 17 city, 25 highway.

I bought this one at Quadratec and installed it in my 2003 TJ-it worked great...just a little pricey http://www.quadratec.com/products/97015_08.htm -
This truck has some positive features, VERY rare Chief, black interior, southern (rust-free) body. But it has SIGNIFICANT negative mechanical issues that will require lots of time & money to make it road-worthy and more of a road-queen. Bottom line, it is NOT worth $1,000 in current condition... I would offer $600 and not budge. Trust me, he will not have a ton of offers and will call back with a counter offer-make sure he has your cell and email so he can find you.

Pete, I've been running these Winterforce tires for about a year on my MJ and are very happy with them. Tonight on my ride home in about an inch of snow, they can't be stopped.

We got our first snow of the season today (just southwest of Boston). Only about 1" on the roads, but it's gridlock every time. :wall:

My vote is for bad relay. I've had this problem before.
