  1. All great points. Just a couple more questions... 1. What is the pressure that the system should be tested at. Residential central systems are pressure tested at 150 psi and mini splits at about 500 psi with dry nitrogen gas. I can test the system without any additional help. 2. I thought that a R134a conversion required that all those parts be replaced. What is involved/required to do the R134a conversion you recommend? Is there a DIY write up that I can follow or a kit that you recommend? Thanks again.
  2. I have a '90 MJ with the 4.0 engine and factory ac. There is no charge left inside the system and I want to convert to R134a. The website JeepAir.com has all the parts that I need: Compressor Kit $279 Condenser $120 Evaporator $140 Liquid Line Drier to Condenser $52 Discharge Hose $35 Suction Hose $87 Quick Disconnect Eliminator Kit (needed because they don't have the other liquid line) $100 I'm sure that their parts are high quality, but wow is this expensive. Is there a better/cheaper way to go to get my ac back in order?
  3. Why do you think it has 4/10ths of a mile on it?
  4. WOW! How about two? Do you take paypal?
  5. Just read the reviews on Amazon and it sounds like it's hit or miss on fit. I can wait for the OEM one. Let me know-no rush at all. Rob
  6. I need the 2-wire pigtail that has the black plastic socket that plugs into the back of the fog or cargo light bezel. See Pics...
  7. Schardein, Makes perfect sense. Thanks for this info. I've got to work tomorrow, so it might have to be next weekend before I can do this project. I'll be sure to update this thread.
  8. Thanks for all the help. So if I grabbed power from the courtesy light, the cargo box light would only get power when the door is ajar? Perhaps I should grab power from switched power from the radio-only hot when the key is on. What a pain in the @$$.
  9. Ohm, I'm not even going to waste your time asking about what you posted...way over my head. Could someone post a picture of the connection plug for the cargo light? I want to see the position the Pink, Pink w/Tracer, and Black wires. My plan B is to tap into power from the pink courtesy light, ground a wire to chassis, and run a new Pink w/Tracer wire back to cargo light.
  10. Does that mean that the pink wire above the driver's side "B" pillar is also not there? Is there a DIY for improvising wiring to the factory cargo lamp switch?
  11. Should the plug with the pink wire for the cargo light be in the dash? It wasn't sitting behind the blanlk plate like this one was.
  12. So I just picked up the fog light/cargo box switch bezel with switches and want to install the factory cargo light. I only found one connector behind the dummy panel with one wire wire harness for the 37 light bulb. Which harness is this one? Can I connect it to the back of the cargo box switch and why don't I have the harness for the fog light switch? Thanks
  13. As you can see from the picture, the strap holding the gas tank skid plate to the frame needs to be fastened. The holes appear larger than 1/2" in diameter. Does anyone know what size RivNut I need so i can bolt it in place?
  14. That's what I thought. This one on eBay lists it as 91-96, but the housing is blue. Could it be an 87-90? here
  15. How often do the 87-90 cluster with a blue housing come up on eBay? I need to do this conversion, thanks.
  16. Hey all, I'm Rob from Walpole MA. The first vehicle that I ever purchased was a 1988 Chief from Pearl Street Motors in Braintree, MA.
  17. Busy day-just getting to sit down now. Pete, thanks, I believe that my previous screen name was: MJkid67
  18. Hello all, This is my first post to this forum in over 12 years. Couldn't find my login info, so I had to create a new profile. I am the new owner of this 1990 MJ and will pick it up on Sunday. This will be my 12th Jeep and 3rd MJ overall. My first was a 1988 Chief that I purchased new from Pearl Street Motors in Braintree, MA, so I do have some cred. The purchase price was a bit higher than I wanted to pay, but outside the front suspension noise and the inoperative a/c, the other flaws are small potatoes and easily corrected. Trust me when I say, this truck is absolutely stunning looking inside and out. Very excited to get going and I'll share my work and hopefully get some help from you guys on this forum! Rob G.
  19. The Dodge Dakota-the truck that played a role in the decision to kill the MJ, is rolling off the line for the last time today. :clapping: http://www.allpar.com/news/
  20. Awesome Pics!!! What's the story with that log cabin house with the walking bridge?
  21. ...so were you able to fix it? We all want to know!!!
  22. Why would you want to use a white gauge background with a white indicator needle? :huh???:

    Osama is Dead.

Hey jpnjim, I’m all for analyzing a picture to gleam ‘what’s really going on’, but I can’t agree with any of your findings. Why are most of you guys so quick to rip this guy? I have a better question, why did former President Bush sit in an elementary school classroom reading My Pet Goat for about ten long minutes when he was told that ‘the country was under attack’?

JeepcoMJ, Are you prejudiced, racist, or just plain ignorant? Why do you have hatred toward our President? Explain to me how he mishandled Operation Neptune's Spear, also known as the Abbottabad Operation? Also, why in the wide world of sports do you cling to the hope that his birth certificate is falsified? You seriously need to chill. It’s 2011
