Thanks a lot guys for the advice. I've thought through your counsel and this is my plan. First off I would really love to fix this truck but then again the price is just too steep to buy it at $1000. Sooooo.... I'm just gonna wait on it. I will give the guy maybe 2 weeks and then I will show up at his place and offer for $400. If he doesn't take it I guess that will just be a loss and I'll have to move on. If you guys find any deals please refer them to me. The only thing I want in a Comanche is a manual transmission and 4wd. I got a 96 jeep xj for an excellent deal but unfortunately it is a automatic. I really enjoy driving manuals so I really want to stick with a manual transmission on my next Jeep (Hopefully a Comanche) Thanks again everyone for the advice :-) You have saved me from a bad purchase :thumbsup:

So basically I found this Comanche not too far from my house for $1000. It looked like a good deal from the Craigslists AD but after checking it out myself I'm not too sure about it. Here is my examination: The Good 1987 Comanche Cheif 212,XXX miles on it 4.0 L HO Inl 6 Engine 4 WD It has a Rancho 4 in lift installed on it No leaks, Oil and coolant look good Runs with no knocks and shifts gears like normal Its a Manual No rust in floor or in the bed Interior is dirty but can be cleaned Overall it seems to be a decent truck The Bad No rear Bumper The rear left side of the truck has a huge dent in it that someone tried to hammer back out Needs a serious paint job Guy stuck 31s on the rear and 235s on the front :dunno: , No tread either so it basically needs new tires all around Heater control knob is missing Missing left rear light cover My intentions are to buy this beast and fix it up to hopefully resale it. I love working on vehicles and this is definitely a project I would love to tackle. My only question is would it be worth the investment. The guy is selling it for $1000 and he is pretty firm about his price. So basically I'm just trying to get some advice here. Thank You!
