  1. Need Cruiser to chime in........
  2. Krusty, I'm not in the market to do a diesel swap right now but love the idea when/if my 227k 4.0L dies. So even turbo'd your 3.3 is only putting out 85hp? I believe you with the torque it keeps up with 4.0's but still am amazed it doesn't even make 100hp. I understand it was built for industrial use and not transportation, but still......
  3. Why put a Mercedes diesel in a pickup when you can just turn the Mercedes in to the truck? https://www.ebay.com/itm/153677561751
  4. Fyi, got an email from RockAuto on wholesale closeout for a bunch of MJ parts, including this TPS at <$15
  5. Looks like something Jay Leno would own lol
  6. Yeah, OP also posted on FB and another pic that's not on here showing from right rear forward, lots of spray on the right side leafs.
  7. Freshly painted, lots of overspray on the leaf springs though
  8. Thanks Gamble, came across that today too.
  9. I've determined that at least one of my door lock switches is only transmitting power one way. Any way to pop these open to check and clean the contacts? I sprayed the heck out of it with electrical contact cleaner through a crease on the back but no luck. On a side note, I also discovered that this switch and one on my driver's door are Ford switches! I noticed the oval and script F when looking closely at it and then also that the grooves on the switch were different than all but the one on the driver door. P.O. must have replaced them at some point. Hopefully that might mean it could be easier to get replacements.
  10. I found a clean short bed that I'll be using to replace the rusted wheel arches in mine. If I came across a clean and straight longbed I'd still be a potential buyer to just swap mine out. Mine would be perfect for someone looking to cut the wheel arches or put aftermarket flares on.
  11. LOL..........great pic! Congrats again!
  12. It had some crud in it, but not bad. I ran a coat hanger through it to clean it out.
  13. Yeah, that's what I've been doing a good bit today. As the whip goes down, without the guide cover on it either snags on a bracket right below it or hits the bottom of the door and gets kinked. I pulled out the new aftermarket replacement regulator to compare and the guide cover has clips on it where it attaches to the door somewhere to keep that in place as the whip slides through it. I may try to come up with something but I may just go ahead and replace the regulator/motor now since the door is already apart.
  14. My passenger window would get hung up after going down only a few inches, and while the motor sounds weak I also thought it might be the spiral metal whip auger thingy getting hung up because I had experienced that on the driver side. Pulled the panel and it is a combination of those things and the switch terminals need a good cleaning. While I have a new regulator sitting in a box, there is some life left in this one and I'm not sure if I want to go through the hassle of drilling out rivets etc to replace it yet. So my real questions are this....... first, is the auger whip supposed to extend towards the front of the door or the rear? There is more room for it extending towards the rear, but the guide tube it comes out of is angled slightly towards the front of the door. Second, on both my doors there was a rigid rubber hose laying in the bottom of the door and if I am correct, this is supposed to cover the auger to guide it and keep it from getting hung up on brackets and such inside the door cavity. I sprayed a substantial amount of lithium grease in the hose but it seems barely big enough for the auger to fit in so the auger just pushes the hose and ends up getting bound up. I thought about buying some oversize hose to at least keep it from getting hung up on brackets, but standard rubber hose will just kink up. Haven't checked Lowes etc for a rigid hose yet but looking for some guidance and suggestions.
  15. Congrats!
  16. Pics of the bride or didn't happen LOL!
  17. Stock size for rears are 4x6, but people have made 5x7's and even 6x9's work. IMO the sound is drowned out in the rear speakers unless you use the location for mid-range component speakers, even then it's a very inefficient location. In addition to the unit Jeep Driver posted above, a Bazooka tube works very well in Comanches. I have a 6.5" dual voice coil tube in my truck with 70w of power running at 2 ohms and unless you want people to hear you coming from a block away, it gives plenty of thump in that little cab. An 8" tube would fit also and obviously give a bit more punch. The Bazookas can be had with or without a built-in amp. I have 5 1/4s in the doors and that's it. Obviously it depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. There are some good write-ups on here with component speakers up front with the tweeters being mounted on the windshield pillar or in the area of the door handle. Again, depends on what you want to do.
  18. Gotchya......Thanks
  19. Any more detail and/or pics of the repair? I have non-functioning cruise also and while it could certainly be one of many things, this could be good info to start with troubleshooting.
  20. smokin deal, even if you have to ship IMO
  21. I followed your awesome build thread but admittedly mostly drooling at the before and after pics..........so I don't recall if your fuel pump and/or fuel filter is new or old. If it seems to idle fine and even rev w/out much issue while parked but bogs under load, sounds like a fuel delivery problem, especially if the Seafoam fixed it. Pump, filter and injectors all may be ready for replacement.
  22. I believe Monroe makes some, maybe search their site.
  23. This looks like an exceptionally clean and straight truck. No pics of the underside and it's in WV so rust is definitely a possibility. Supposedly a "little old lady" is selling it, asking $7k but the guy who posted it on the "All Things Jeep Comanche" page says she is definitely negotiable. Not sure of the year, not posted, but looks like an 88 as the maroon interior was so common for that year. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=757268294692463&set=pcb.3168572933182662&type=3&theater
