  1. Bastard pack for sure. The 3 spring looks super thick and the overload spring is squared off at the end, not round or tapered.
  2. In the process of swapping in 746 injectors on my 88 Renix 4.0L. Are the o-rings on the fuel return line and on the pressure regulator the same size? I thought the return line was larger, yet the o-rings I pulled out look identical in size and match up with the replacement 5/16s I bought. The pack also came with a pair of 3/8. On a different note, I pulled out the o-ring and the spacer from the return line and I don't see or feel a bottom o-ring. I have scraped inside with a pick and I am almost certain there is not a 2nd one in there. There should be, correct?
  3. This is the direction I'm going to start with. Picking up a new pressure line tomorrow, the return hose is just clamped on to the fitting so for about 1/2 what a new complete return line costs I can get a new O-ring and new hose. I don't think the box is the problem. When I changed the radiator a few months ago I degreased the box and it remains almost completely dry. So I'm pretty sure it's either the hoses or the pump......or both. I'll see what happens after the new hoses and fresh fluid and go from there.
  4. No worries! Found one on eBay with 1/3 the shipping cost. A few out there at online dealers also.
  5. Anybody know the size and/or a part # of these O-rings? I'm going to replace the whole pressure line and then put a new O-ring and hose on the return line and see what that does before doing anything else.
  6. FWIW, this is not a repair/replacement that I will tackle myself, I'll have my shop do it.
  7. I was just thinking of that as I was pricing AC Delco and Lares reman units, i.e. the other parts that should be replaced at the same time including the pressure lines. Did not know one had an o-ring....thanks!
  8. Next on the agenda is repairing/replacing the power steering pump and/or gearbox. Not 100% if it's one or the other........or both, but it's been losing fluid slowly for awhile but seems to be more so lately. Steering overall is a bit loose but I would not call it "sloppy". IF I have to replace one or both components, what recommendations does everybody have regarding mfr's or reman suppliers? Truck is used as DD for my son during the summers and basic work truck for me, probably won't have more than 6k miles a year put on it. Don't want the cheapest stuff, don't want or need the high dollar stuff. Quality at a good value is what I'm after. Still running 31s for the foreseeable future, could possibly see going to 33x10.50s at some point.
  9. For now, the culprit apparently was a loose lower shock mount on the front axle. Time will tell, but I'm not sure if that didn't come loose because of the DW. Shop said that was the only thing they found loose. The tech drove it, the shop owner drove it and I drove it and no DW. I'm gonna take a closer look at the trackbar mounts and see if the mounting holes have worn themselves larger and put a torque wrench on everything again in about 3-4 weeks.
  10. Yes, shop aligned it after installing front end components. I will check and re-tighten everything today then take it back to the shop tomorrow to do an alignment again now that the rear is lifted, and see about adjusting the UCAs.
  11. Thanks guys.......so the solution is?? Isn't the caster difficult to adjust on MJ's?
  12. Had my truck 10+yrs. Was DD for my son last 18mos before he went to college, otherwise probably was driven 2-3k/year. Been running 31s since right after I bought it. Originally put on mild lift with ZJ V8 coils and pucks, WJ LCAs, everything else stock, maybe 2" lift. NEVER had death wobble at any speed, not even a hint. Been accumulating parts for HD steering upgrade for couple of years, OE track bar recently broke so went ahead and replaced ALL front end components with new parts I've accumulated along with a little more lift, probably 3.5" now. OME 2930 coils, 1.75 pucks, fixed LCAs for 3-4" lift, adj UCA, HD adj track bar, HD XJ drag link, ZJ V8 tie rod, new shocks, new steering stabilizer. The only parts that are not new on the front end are the axle bushings for UCAs and ball joints on steering knuckles. Probably put a few hundred miles on it since these were installed, no problems at various speeds up to 70mph. Yesterday installed extended shackles on rear to level it out. Today, under hard acceleration, death wobble at @45mph!!!! Under normal acceleration up to 60mph it did not happen, but then happened as I slowed down, again @40mph. I can't even say how upset I am. First because i have never had DW even with OE 227k mile steering components, and second because lately it seems like every time I fix one thing another thing happens. I don't have the time or tools to do this type of work and it is turning in to a money pit. I am at my wits end.......anxious for feedback since everything is new. Confused and frustrated.
  13. Got these mounted up today. Had to get my shop to install them, upper bolts were seized to the bushing pin. Pretty sure they were OE and never removed. Shop did not say anything about having any difficulty going in on the frame side, so all good. I haven't measured yet but it is very noticeable, I think I got a full 1.5" out of them. They are 7.5" eye to eye.
  14. I guess it makes sense they would be a little different considering we're talking about rims designed for TJ's 20yrs after MJ/XJ's. Although you'd think an 8" rim would have less backspacing than a 7" rim.
  15. Thanks JeepDriver..........I did find that Ravines are 5.5
  16. Turbines are 15x7 and Ravines are 15x8
  17. I realized that I meant to ask what the backspacing is for each. It would make sense they would have the same offset.
  18. Anybody have the offsets for these two wheels? Thanks **EDIT: Meant to ask what the backspacing is for each, NOT offset.**
  19. The ones I have are definitely wider at both ends. Eyeballed them under the truck today and the frame side is as noted above @1/8" + wider than the mounts. Spring side looks like it will need 1-2 washers on each side of the spring eye to have a tight fit. I got these a couple years ago, can't even remember where from, i.e. if from a retailer or from an individual.
  20. I've seen some pictures of the build before, I think it is on a stock MJ frame.
  21. Cruiser, find some kid and pay him $20 to do the shoveling for you and drop some Jeep knowledge on him while you watch. Take care of yourself friend!
