  1. just because you can't flip them forward, or another reason?
  2. Pete, so only 2DR XJ seats flip forward, but do the 4DR seats at least have the seat back adjustment? Thanks
  3. Cool! That's what I get for @$$-uming it was like jeepforum. I need to get some on here of my new savings account. Ha!
  4. JT, how bout some pics of your patchwork? Jeepco, what color are those seats if JT doesn't want 'em? So, to be clear, the seats simply unbolt from the XJ brackets? Do the mounting holes match up to the MJ or are new holes needed on the MJ brackets? Thanks for everyone's help. How many posts needed here before I can post pics? I think it's 50 on jeepforum.
  5. maybe glue some lightweight foam, i.e. not very dense so it still has good airflow, to the bottom to absorb some of the water. the heat from the engine is likely to evaporate it out of the foam quick enough that it never gets so saturated that it dumps out on the engine, and even if it does, you're no worse off than if you didn't foam it anyway. point being, it could probably help more than it hurts. fyi, i was thinking like TNT, swap sides so the angles are swept back. also, have you thought about painting them before you start cutting so you're eye gets a better look at them? i'm usually good at visualizing things but the red throws me off against your great paint job. JMO....
  6. I've always seen a lot of threads about XJ seats in an MJ, and discussion about having to modify the XJ brackets a little etc. So, is it possible to simply bolt an XJ seat on to an MJ seat bracket and you're done? Like everybody else, my driver side seat is torn as are most of the JY seats out there, so I think I've found some XJ pass seats in good shape. I was hoping to get one of those and simply bolt it to my driver side seat bracket. Other than my tilt levers being on the inside of the seat, are there any other issues to know about, assuming this all can be done w/out much hassle? Thanks for any help.
  7. John, very nice rig! I'm surprised nobody else asked, but could you tell us if you had to do much modding to get the VW interior lights to fit and work? What Dub did they come out of? And, what did you do for the underdash lights, if I am correct MJ's did not come with any? Thanks, Greg
  8. you can also get these switches at teamcherokee.com and wholesalemopar.com
  9. Funny, I got mine back today too. A few pieces of incorrect info. It's pretty cool to know my 211k '88 is actually a hybrid. I wonder if I can get some tax credits from it? 10. no window crank involved, my Comanchillac has pwr windows! 8) just the rod connectors for the door lock latch and door handle, should have time to go at it tonight.
  11. Good eye, didn't notice the Chevy mats..........
  12. uh, maybe it was never a plow truck, just for arguments sake? i WOULD agree that i'd be hesitant to buy a truck that was dedicated to plowing it's whole life. anyway, funny how threads weave (pun intended) their way through opinions. i actually posted this to share a super clean looking mj, not so much to focus on price. i see 88MJay's old manche going for $5600 and lot of guys out there wouldn't hesitate to pay that because it's worth it to THEM for a bitchin built trail rig. IMO for this rig, same reason for a different kind of buyer. it's all good........
  13. nice work wiping off your doors for a little advertising there. ha! :laughin:
  14. TNT, just because it has a plow on it doesn't mean it's a "just a nicely detailed plow truck". IMO that's just a back handed compliment at best. having a custom plow on it, to me, clarifies somebody most likely restored it because if it had been doing plow duty we all know it couldn't look like that no matter how well someone kept it clean. i don't think there is an off roader out there that would pay that kind of money to take it out and hammer it. i'd say that the guy looking for a solid DD and likes to do a little light off roading or have some fun getting to his favorite hunting spot might pay $5-6k for it. a collector? with that kind of mileage etc, i bet that truck will go quick pretty close to $7k. i guess all i'm saying is not everyone is in to modding their manche for max off road capability. they are the majority, but there are those who like to street out a 2WD and those who just like a cool little truck that not everybody has. well, i'm rambling obviously but this is what makes being a member cool: talking shop or b-s'ing with other owners. go ahead, just say "ok, you're right wahoo" and i'll stop posting on this tight little truck. ha! ;)
  15. Thanks Pete. If I remember from last night, they almost have a little turn-buckle on them.
  16. What do you guys think it's worth? I've got a figure in my head. Funny thing is, for owners who don't wheel hard and/or fix up theirs for either a restore project or to be a DD, you WANT this truck to sell for that much. IMO, these trucks truly are almost as rare as Scramblers so it'd be cool to see them go up in value like 8's, now that I own a Manche of course. HA! But if that truck's metal is that clean top to bottom, the driveline is tight and TRUE miles, it's got a lot of value. I don't know what plows go for these days but with that clean setup w/the OE bumper, that's gotta be worth $1k. So it's like he's asking $7k for the truck. I'm an CJ8 fan too, and one of those in comparable condition goes for mid to high teens. It's fair to say without being able to see the Manche in person that it represents the top 1% of original, super clean Manche's. That being said, the price probably isn't too far off and there's a buyer out there who will pay close to that I'm sure. JMO!
  17. Condition: Wow Miles: Wow Price: WOW http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... r_id=69527
  18. Ok, first time i've ever removed door panels. what's the trick to disconnecting the door handle and lock switch? some fragile looking plastic parts in there so i don't want to force anything. thanks for any help!
  19. where did you get the seats, they look great.......
  20. you're original seats would not have happened to be buckets were they? do you still have them and is either in good enough shape to sell?
  21. boy, that sure is a nice chrome bumper on the back of that trailer? any chance you'd sell it to me and put a black one on to match the truck? i'm SURE you're going to paint the trailer to match the truck anyway. let me know if you have any interest in doing this, i'd buy it asap. thanks......
