Sad to see what looks like a solid FC cab put on a JD Gator, but still pretty cool overall LOL. I'll just assume the rest of the FC was rotted. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/284670204304539/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks

EGR ramblings and reach out

Maybe reach out to Brandon, MJ hitch maker, and see if he'd be up for producing some plates? -
EGR ramblings and reach out
WahooSteeler replied to cruiser54's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The seller I bought a recommended (on another jeep site) block-off plate on eBay no longer is listed/registered there, but I found their FB page. Also found another potential vendor, midwestjeepwillys.com As far as block-off plugs, I found a recommended one either on here or another site, Dorman 090-061 "oil drain plug" is a direct fit, so I bought 2 of those. Suffice it to say I have not deleted my EGR yet so I cannot confirm fitment on any of these. Don't know if this helps but thought I'd share. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063534429634 https://midwestjeepwillys.com/3221283p.html -

How to Improve Power Windows
WahooSteeler replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You can install relays to improve power lock performance on the passenger side, I plan on trying to use the same approach for the passenger window instead of the step up converter. -

Drove the MJ to work today since my daughter's car was getting inspected and I let her drive my car. First time I've been out and about in it for awhile, but only took a few hours to get 2 offers to buy it. First guy pulled up to me while I was getting gas and talked for about 10 minutes, he offered $5k. Second guy saw it parked while I ran in to a store and when I came out he was waiting for me, practically begged to buy it. He was driving a super clean lifted XJ, said he has a YJ and always wanted a Comanche. I told both of them it's not for sale but the 2nd guy kept pushing. I was curious what number I could get him to even though I don't plan on selling. He finally threw out $7k and I said well at least you got my attention but I think I'll hang on to it. Love it when this happens.

Recommendations for Sound Deadening/Insulation
WahooSteeler replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I put Noico 80 mil in my truck and was very pleased, especially at the price on Amazon. I just read a review on a product called Soundskins that is a 3 layer product vs the typical 2 layer of butyl rubber and aluminum backing. A bit pricey but got a good review. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/soundskins-sound-deadening-wrangler-jl/ -

My takeaway was that Rotella is still a good oil for 4.0s as low revving motor and they do benefit from zinc. I think the article was just an expansion on the notion "one size (type) fits all" approach is NOT a good thing, i.e. that ANY diesel oil and/or high zinc oil is better for older engines, muscle cars etc. It basically reiterated that there are so many different oils because there are so many different applications, so do a little homework and find the right one for the best long term results.
