Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

    Should I ?

1980 Cherokee narrow track. 360 v8 or the inline six. The body alone is worth what they are asking if there is no rust.
  2. I'm with Pete. Build your suspension and axles now and worry about the engine later. The 2.5 is a tough dependable motor and the 5 speed behind it helps a little. I do like my 4.0L though.
  3. I buy alot of things from Quadratec and 4 wheel drive hardware , but if I need it now, most of the time I go to Advance Auto because they are open until 9:00 pm every day. I like to buy parts Jeeps and take the good stuff off.
  4. Do you get any fluid come through the bleeders in the rear? It may be that your proportioning valve is stuck or not the proper one for rear disk.
  5. Could be a bad clutch on fan.
  6. Well then we will need to pick some dates, start a thread for it and start planning.
  7. What I would like to see is a step side type bed on a Comache. Hmm!
  8. I did mine on my Comanche a year or so ago. They make a special set of cups for the Dana 30 axle I purchased from too topia.com. A friend has the big c clamp tool for pressing ball joints and u joints I can borrow when I need to. Purchased my ball joints from Rock Auto and got the Moog Problem Solvers because I hate cheap parts that I will need to replaced again.
  9. I would be up for a McCaslin Mt meet and greet in the spring when the snow is melting and the frost is coming up and making the ground soft and mushy. I am not sure what state of modification my Comanche will be in at that time but I will have the XJ as a back up.
  10. I can print them for you and send them to you in the mail. I am not able to email them. PM me a mailing address and what years you want wiring diagrams for. I have Mitchell manuals on a CD covering 1983 to 2003 model years.
  11. Maybe this is would be a good reason to have a pow wow wrench-a-thon at TNT's to help him out.
  12. If there is anything I can do to help put something together let me know.
  13. I never really cared for them because they replaced the XJ but over all they are a good vehicle. Too small for the family so we bought this one recently. an 04 with just under 20,000 miles on it for 12,900 with my old wagoneer as a trade in. Last year for the 4.0L and it has select trac 4x4 system which I prefer.
  14. The seats came out of the 89 XJ that I am parting out. I had to use the seat mounts from the bench seat that was in the truck.
  15. If anyone is interested in going to northern WI I would be interested in getting something going in the future. First I need to build my truck. Here is a nice photo of a friends CJ7 on a trail up on Mc caslin Mt. There are also many many miles of National Forest roads to explore plus great fishing and all services for food and lodging.
