Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. And motion offroad 3 link rock krawler long arm kit that comes with there mj kit was designed for an xj look on the rock krawler web site. So its nothing specialy designed for an mj its just another long arm kit. Its a 3 link so maybe a little better but it wasnt designed specifically for a mj.
  2. :agree: Well according to everybody ive talked to at rough country. Rough country does to make Rock Krawler coils. And a long arm kit does help alot but manche0230 same hed be wheeling mostly in mud and dirt and so he really doesnt need all the flex that comes along with a long arm kit. And like i said in my post if he desided he needed to upgrade he always could. I didnt tell him not to buy your kit i told him i would suggest buying the RC kit first. He could always upgrade later. Also a drop pitman arm is fine to address the steering issues. You don't need a heavy duty steering to play in a little mud. And personal id rather have a track bar that bolts right up. It keeps things simple. And for the matter of bashing stuff to get a sale i wasnt hardly doing anything like that. Infact i don't even sell truck parts. I'm a plumber i don't think that by telling dude that he should buy one kit over another hes going to come have me clean his toilet. Unlike you I'm on he to learn and talk more about comanches not advertise my products and my buisness. I'm on here talking to people b/c i enjoy it. Not to make money. And the reason i gave him my number is b/c i get a discount at rough country and i could have got him that lift for about $850. And If you think about it for a second i always brag about RC b/c i like there product. So by me saying that they have the same coils i think that would be a compliment to you. I also didnt say anything bad about your product except for the fact that he can get something a little cheeper that will work just fine for him. So instead of getting all grouchy about somebodies opinion howabout triing to tell the differences. And instead of just simply triing to sell your product why don't you try and help the people out. If dude is going to be playing manly in the mud and dirt than he doesnt really need long arms and you keep telling him he does. I know for a fact he doesnt. And just for your sake i think your product is a really nice one infact if i wanted a long arm kit or a bolt on soa. Youd probably be the first person i talked to about getting my parts. You have a nice kit and I'm not saying that you don't I'm simply saying hes a beginner and doesnt need anything that extreme. So sorry to affend everybody in here but i thought this forum was to give advice and help people out.
  3. get the rough country lift. the motion off road has the EXACT same coils. The motion offroad kit is based off of the rock krawler front lift. And rock krawler lift use rough country coils. If you bought the motion off road one youll simply be wasting your money. Infact i can help you get the RC lift cheaper than it list for if you want. Give me a call at (479)747-9771 my name is clarence. The rough country lift is actually really nice. I got the rc lift on my commanche and i can flex the wheels all the way. Infact i have flexed my front wheels all the way until they hit the inner fender wells. The only thing that would make the lift better would be a long arm kit. And you really don't need that unless you plan on doing some extreem stuff and you can always get a long arm kit later if your not happy with the short arm setup.
  4. for about $2200 you can buy a bolt in dana 44 front axle that excepts the dana 30 brakes and such. They come with a locker of your choice alloy usa shafts and many different gear ratios to choose from. not sure how good they are made but I'm sure there just as good as triing to get ahold of a rubicon front axle. Those could be expensive everything from a rubicon are expensive.
  5. hey PETE M your photos are great i love the modern grille swap on the white comanche http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=712516&uid=512063 but the only thing is you got the grille upside down lol. I figured id point that out to ya. You got some nice pictures and looks like youve had some fun trips. How are those tires you got on your red manche? are those tsl?
  6. If you want a good tire thats not to expensive get something like buckshots or mud kings. there good tires offroad and there cheep. there not so hot on road but they work and you get decent tread life. And there cheap. If you want a good tire then you have to fork out a couple of bucks. But I'm just running cheapo tires right now. Infact i got the mud king steal radials. And in my opinion they do great off-road but they make alot of road noise and they're not exactly an A/T but there great if your only going to use the truck for off-road and going back and forth to class. I wouldnt want to drive cross country but ive taken them on the interstate for 3 hours strait and they did great..
  7. if your not going to drive in town much then you should get a more aggressive type tire than a firestone.
  8. is there a front d44 that you can swap into a commanche. or any good axle. i know that currie enterprise built a comanche with a ford 8in front but I'm sure it was heavily modified.
  9. I'm not a big fan of the firestone. but what kind of wheeling are you going to be doing and are you going to use this truck as a daily driver?
  10. I'm not an expert on anything ford. But I'm pretty sure there not all 31 spline.. I think that the rangers is a 27 spline or something like that. BUT I COULD BE WRONG like i said I'm not an expert on anything for or axles either for that matter.
  11. good point there. Every component on you truck really needs to be selected based on what kind of wheeling you do... I like trail riding up in the mountains. but there are alot of different things to do. I guess in order to build the perfect truck you first need to really think about what you want to do in your truck... And then build from there.
  12. i agree totally.. Unless you just love your 4.0 and want to have a 1 of a kind engine there are many other ways to make better more dependable power. A 4.0 isnt the best engine out there anyhow... stroked out with a supercharger and all that other crap would be awsome for about 50000 miles and then itll be ready for a rebuild. Your better off getting a chevy v6 or v8 and good gears and itll be alot cheeper.
  13. its cool i didnt think you were a a$$ the polls are for discussion with out the experience of everybody in here and the experiment that we all try none of us would have the awsome comanches that we all have. i don't have any experience with rustys except for the one xj i seen and stuff that people say. As for the rough country i love those guys i only talk to 2 people down there but they are super cool and i love there customer service. As for the quality of the RC stuff ill admit it probably isnt the best in the world but its tough as hell and its really really cheep. And its worth every cent you spend on it. I sware on the bible a rc lift saved my life. An atlas is the way to go if you want tough ill admit that too. lol But there tera low kit is pretty cool and you have to admit that lol. But any time i say something and anybody disagrees put it out there thats the reason i joined this club. I don't have anybody in russellville that really knows anything about jeeps so i love just talking to you guys. COMANCHE CLUB RULES
  14. Does the 8.8 have a removable center section like the ford 9 in?
  15. i think my solution would be the same cut out the hood and make the clearence thataway lol. A turbo might be kinda cool but its an expensive process. and a 4.0 really isnt made to handle alot of boost and when you run a turbo with little boost you get bad lag and that just scrues up your performance anyhow.
