Had me until the interior shots. Looks half cocked. Color isn't right on the mini console, the roundish Dakota seats look out of place in the square '96 interior. I would have liked to see either a nice MJ bench, or some first gen leather buckets.

It's very pretty on the outside (the interior bugs me in the same way Rob said - curves and the old school interior do not mix.) but I'm not sure what the benefit over a regular old MJ is. It looks like an XJ-sized MJ - not that much shorter or more maneuverable. Also what's the deal with the "trough" at the front of the bed? It looks like it's about the size of a toolbox.

Does look cool though, but I still can't figure out if I like the Wagoneer front clip on it.

This started as a two door XJ. That trough is where the rear seat folded down ;)

4 door. Look at the short doors. Nicely done, but I would want to crawl all over it.

I guess I would also have to ask... why?

It looks really nice from the front but I'm not a fan overall.

Would much rather see a real Comanche done up the way the exterior of this one looks.

One thing that bugs me is that they say its a show truck but the engine isn't even cleaned up for the pictures. :hmm:

Man, there's a TON of fab work in the bed.  Look at the fender wells...... MJ bed sides and wells, grafted to the XJ wells and floor.  NUTS.

I'd hate to flex that on a trail...... I foresee lots of cracked filler and wavy rear body panels where the bed meets the cab.

I do like the levity........ "Super-Short".

I wonder if it flexes normally, or if they beefed up the uniframe.

Not sure what you mean. I agree, they shouldn't be calling it a Comanche because it isn't one, but all the body lines look like they match what they would on an MJ. It just looks weird because the bed is so much shorter and there's no gap between the cab and bed.

Call it a Jeep El Camino.
