Looked out the window at it, and noticed that most of the ice from the ice storm last monday has finally melted off of it.... I havent been driving ir for fear the salt put down would get to it, Maybe I can drive it again tommorow or next week. And I know I keep saying it, but I need to get back to work on it, and update my build thread.

finished installing the dash, switched over to a charcoal one to go with my black headliner and rear interior.

then put fuel in it (it's been empty for 4 weeks now  ), and started it for the first time in over a month...man this motor sounds good :D

sounding funny, will investigate after it warms up

note with Eaton in front and spool in rear "no pull out was required" just smashed the loud peddal to the carpet and let her eat her way out, "love this truck" comanche.gif

side note called about another mj today, going to see it later in the week

Finally took out the neutral safety switch and cleaned it up. Now it starts as it should, but we couldn't get the reverse lights to work. Gotta check out the wiring.

It's tough to work in this brutal 80 degree weather though. 8)

Well over the last 2 days I replaced/had rebuilt a good part of the top end of the motor.

2.5L had a blown head gasket off the outside of #1. Also had 2 bad intake valves and a bad exhaust valve. SO had a valve job done and replaced the 3 bad ones.

Put it all back together along with new ex manifold (did that months ago actually), water pump, hoses (deleted the heater bypass valve), new head and valvecover gaskets, and replaced the battery cables and terminals.

Runs like a top...funny thing is it ran pretty darn well even with the low compression and bad head gasket.

Now to find seats! I got lucky with my last MJ and found a set of buckets out of a '92 MJ in the boneyard. I doubt I will get that lucky and to add fuel to the fire my DS floor mount is broken...so I need to replace that as well.

Once I have seats and work on the floorboard some it's on to suspension, axles and the 4wd conversion.

After parking it in the heated shop at work for a day last week to melt most of the snow in the bed, I reinstalled the topper last Wednesday to keep the new snow out.

Bed's no good if you can't find what you tossed in there under all that white stuff.
