HOrnbrod
Absolutely nothing. Still waiting for the correct all-Wagner front disk brake parts to completely redo the front brakes from the idiots at O'Reillys. Chronological history: They ordered two right side calipers (3-times), ordered the wrong rotors twice (4WD instead of 2WD), got the wheel bearings right, but flocked up the inner seals. Almost three weeks now.......... Time for a new parts supplier, my friend!!! Friends like this, who needs the problems!! :D CW Actually I was a little hard on the boys from O'Reillys. Usually they are pretty good. The real blame is with the morons who do the drop shipping from Wagner. My local O'Reillys had to order most of the stuff direct from Wagner. The boxes showed up w. the correct part numbers on the outside, but the parts were wrong. Lesson learned: OPEN ALL parts' boxes before leaving the store.

vaquaro
New rear brake lines ( old ones rusted out & sprung a leak ) Not the most fun I've ever had ! Metric to sae adaptors galore and damn awkward to access without a hoist :headpop: Also installed a new master-cylinder just 'cause it was probably time. ...... Should mention , the lines blew 75 km in the boons on Sunday yet ! Drove over 500 km home thru the Fraser Canyon with front brakes only , kinda like being in the dentist chair for 6 hrs
CWLONGSHOT
I mocked up a couple pieces for my rear bumper, side guards build. The plan is using 2''X3''X.125'' stock. Attaching it to the rear bumper on an angle, extending forward to the edge of the wheel opening. Then with welding on a 1.75 round stock extending back to the frame with a bolt on plate. I'll box the ends for looks and prep with POR15 and top coat rustoleum black. First issue: My rear bumper is too short to get the reveal I'm looking for. SO, I cut some .250 stock 3"X 6". I'll weld this in on the angle cut. This will allow about a 1.5" extension for proper reveal protection. Then I had to make a block off plate for good looks... I began chopping angles on a piece of 2x4 lumber for fitment. I decided on a 10-degree angle with a 5-degree rake. Then the sky opened up and the radio began blaring tornado alerts!!! Time to head indoors... CW
mvusse
Well, Saturday I painted the other fender and header panel. Did the grill flat black as an experiment, but will redo it again gloss. Flat black looks more grey than black. Sunday I went to pull-a-part. Alternator went out halfway there. It's been acting up since it spent a few hours submerged last time off road, yesterday it completely gave up the ghost. Decided to head on to the JY as I have a pretty good battery, and got a sunburn on top of my head pulling parts. Score: Complete ZJ rear disc brake assembly, both left and right, with almost brand new rotors and pads. Parking brake shoes are shot, however. $41.15 Alternator with warranty: $18.30 FM Antenna: $2.99 And for a buddy: 2 XJ tail gate shocks 1 wiper delay module I installed the FM antenna yesterday. Today I installed the new alternator, but not in the stock location. Instead I stuck it on top where the AC compressor would normally mount. I have no AC, so the only thing there is an idler pulley. Took some nuts and bolts from the hardware store, and a piece of steel, angle grinder with cutting wheel, bench grinder and drill to make some custom brackets. Then went to Autozone and got a shorter belt (770K6). Sorry, no pictures as my camera cable went kaput. I got pictures, but no way to get them to the computer. CWLONGSHOT
I moved my Hi-lift from the bed to the drivers side bed rail. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: I made up some aluminum plates and mounted the hi-lift mounts to that. Nice little project. I think it came put great. CW

ComancheKid45
Changed the Tranny Fluid (atleast drained the pans) in the XJ and the MJ. Both looked really good and gave em both alittle road time. Have a new bump stop for the MJ to replace 1 that rusted off over the winter, lol
CWLONGSHOT
I started on my front bumper tonight.... Didn't get too far when I realized I didn't like that push bar I put on last year..... I really want protection for the winch... guess i need to make some!! First thing was I needed to re-mount up the lites as I really didn't want to cut them off. The little pieces I chopped off my rear shock mounts worked perfectly as light tabs!! This allowed the lites to be mounted up under the winch for max protection. MUCH cleaner then where they where!! mvusse
Taped a piece of paper to the inside of my outside frame brace, took a pencil, stuck it through the steering box bolt sleeves and marked the last three holes to drill.

mvusse
Finished the braces for the frame around the steering box, and got the crack in the frame welded. One pass looked good, so we did a second pass just in case. Crack: All welded up: Inside brace: Outside brace: Mocked up in place: Now the steering box bolts are too short. Stock bolts are 7/16-14x4, I need 4.5". Don't know if they exist. I bought 3 5" bolts at the local hardware, but the threads may not go far enough down the bolt. That's where I ran out of daylight. CWLONGSHOT
you need to weld the brace COMPLETELY to the frame...bolting it on isn't gonna help lol I agree, for that brace to be of any use, it needs to be welded. ALSO, the addition of a steering brace will allow forces to be redirected to the opposite frame rail. CW
mvusse
It will be welded. The mock up picture is just that. A mock up. I want to bolt everything together to make sure it fits right. Then with the bolts tight, spot weld it to make sure it doesn't move. Then unbolt everything, finish welding it, paint it, and bolt everything back on. Weather permitting I might be done tomorrow.
