Hey everyone, some of you might remember me but I haven’t been around since I had to swap the MJ’s for something more family friendly. Anyways, here’s a customers clean 84 XJ 2.8L with 195k miles. Easily the cleanest 80s Jeep I’ve worked on. Actually owe you guys for the diagnosis, since there wasn’t much info in my tech info, I dug up some info here about the mechanical fuel pump and how 84-85 were different than the 86. My customer had someone swap out the pump, but put an 86one in with too short of a push rod. Proper pump installed, and he’s good to go! There's a pic of the two pumps also, although the one I removed also blew apart so the spring isn't installed. sorry about the flipped photos, they show up properly until I loaded them 🤷♂️

For what it's worth, I'm currently a chrysler dealer tech, one of the other techs has a friend who has personally worked on the wrangler truck but of course he won't say a damn thing. something about not wanting to risk his job? hahah.

mnkyboy, looks like 82/83? i know they're mostly the same as an escort, but there are some parts that are specific to EXP/LN7 lines that I'll be looking for. That is, if I fix it up. I'm hoping its not too far gone from long neglect :(

I thought I saw someone on here list some Ford EXPs in their signature, but can't remember who. I have one I'll be getting soon, so if anyone can point me in the right direction for an EXP version of CC, I'd appreciate it. I found expln7.com, but anything else would be great. If anyone wants the story on "my" EXP, here's my intro post over on expln7:

also on a local forum to me, http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=267719 and he's getting a bit more chatter there. for 950, i'd be much more interested in pete's 2 jeeps.

anybody catch the strongbad reference at the end?
-
so for 400 with the amc rear, what tires come with it?
-
so is that 250 total or 150 + 250 for the amc rear?
-
so no dash or anything in the interior?

overhead of my house only shows my current dd, which is a 99 xj. street view must have just been updated, too, because it also shows the xj. although my parents house shows my 87 mj that was parked there for a while, and my old work also shows that same truck parked there when i was driving it.

where i'm at now, we have alldata and direct-hit/identifix. i've used mitchel in the past. honestly, i like alldata overall better than mitchel, but use identifix the most. for what you describe, i would just stick to alldata.

i get wholesale prices through the shop for my parts. i still usually order from rock auto because rock auto often is a lower price, and then i don't have to deal with making sure the parts guy bills it as cash instead of to the shop account.

...and the concepts are a bit of fun for some higher level engineers, but otherwise terrawombat hit it on the head.
