what did you do to your MJ today?

Installed TJs brake release yesterday.

Today was new thermostat, new PCV, rad flush/remix, and new upper rad hose. The lower seems to be new. Realigned the right front headlight, only to have the "sealed" beam unseal itself into two pieces in my hands. Siliconed it up and back into place.

Stuck it in a gully East of town. Was out 'just driven around' when I went into a gully about 2ft deep by 3ft across. Saw the gully but couldn't stop or turn in time.Buried, and bent, the right front bumper back into the tire. It was my 2wd '87. After digging and burning rubber for 3 hours realized it was hopeless and started walking the 10-15 miles back to the house to get "Goldie" the '77 J20. Hadn't gone a mile when a guy showed up in his Jacked up Chevy. He was probably the second person to drive out there in 6 months, me being the first. Backed up to it, hooked up a chain and one big yank and was out. We started talking and he mentioned he needed a radiator for his daughters' '89XJ. The radiator's sitting on the steps waiting for him to come get it, Gratis. :wavey:

Installed the above pictured springs [very stiff], resulting in it riding high in the back. Looks low in the front even though it has a 1" lift over stock. Think it may be time for rear brake lines- not much slack left after the lift.

After doing the axle-side u-joint two months ago, the transmission-side u-joint gave up the ghost. This time, I borrowed a ball-joint/u-joint press from OReilly's, and it made the job much easier. Still a pain to pull the shaft though - I should have just fixed this one last time.

Ordered a bunch of parts: Door handles, headlight switch, weatherstripping, interior lights, etc. Also made the pile of re-finished interior parts grow! I only have a few more panels to clean and paint before its all done. Next is to get seats, a new steering wheel, shift knob, POR-15 the floors and bedliner it. Its getting there!

Built a mount for my Hi-lift.

Still need to find some one with really long arms to hold the backing plate up there so I can put the top bolts in.

The bolts that hold the jack on the mount are the same size as the lug nuts so I can use my lug wrench to take it off.

You posted pictures of your interior painting? I have to do that soon. Are you changing colors or just freshening up?

That is an excellent use of that area. Can I suggest a nut and a lock instead of two regular nuts for theft deterrence? It's the one reason I don't mount my Hi-Lift outside of my TJ.
