I see you named him after a man of the cloth. Best wishes in a rough time.

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/jeep/cherokee/1899514.html?refer=blog It's not my thing, but I can respect the hustle. Would have looked better (and probably been a hell of a lot easier) with an MJ.

Riddle Me This.......and When Difs Go Bad........
Thunderbear replied to Jeep Driver's topic in The Pub
Sadly, I don't have to imagine. That's the reason I don't have an MJ anymore. I take it needed a lot more than an axle assembly to fix? Could have got by with an axle swap, but then the 2.5 was producing a lot of blowby, so a 4.0 swap would have been in order. Way too much for what was supposed to be a 'round town DD. Still have the TJ and now a new Patriot (wife) so we're still in the Jeep Crew. I just replaced the MJ with a first gen ZR2, like I used to have before the TJ. -

I'd have to research, but the way the Iditarod grand prize currently works is new truck, or cash value of new truck applied to other vehicles in the Chrysler lineup. So there's a chance she didn't keep the Comanche. There are a fair amount of them up here, which is interesting. The most interesting one I see every couple of weeks is a 2.8 MJ 2WD with a snorkel. Talk about optimistic...

A 1986 Comanche, of course! Susan Butcher won that year...

No wonder I can never find a tailgate.

Interesting scope set up. That Amega rail setup is exactly why I want a scout Garand. Extended eye relief scope for heads up shots on moose and caribou in brush heavy AK. This is what I'm leaning towards: or synthetic Edit: I think I found that guys setup after he got a low mount scope: Hotness.

AWD Astro drivetrain with Sy/Ty manifolds, and a big hairdryer, stuffed into a 2DR 2nd generation S10 Blazer. M715 with a 6BT/T56/NP242H and portal axles M151 with an OM617 FC150 with a 4BT/4L80...

I don't know about not touched, but it is a polarizing subject, and this is one of the civil and polite forums on the internets, so I imagine it's more just keeping distance to keep it that way.

I'm more of a Garand guy, Sam, but that M1 looks fun. Could have used an impact or two this weekend working on my ZR2. :P Mine are all black and tactical, with the exception of a 1941 Targetmaster and an Ishapore Enfield .308. Oh, and the Kel Tec P3AT whose black paint is flaking.

It looks like all the photo links that work are missing the "fbcdn-" in the beginning of the URL. If you edit the photo links to remove that part of the URL, so it reads : http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn....I think it would fix them.

Yut. Look forward to hearing this same announcement for Master Guns. Hope they send you someplace better than the Stumps. Or cooler, at least.

Strange Vibration With Acceleration
Thunderbear replied to Dracokain's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nice. Must have missed that somewhere. Good to know for my TJ, too, thanks. -
Most often posted is the possibility of "input shock" from the manual trans which is negated by the slushbox. Seems to me like not shifting like a retard would make it a moot point. I love the 242, and would have one in my other truck if I could.

You know it! We have the enemy to the left and to the right of us; they are both ahead of us and behind us. Bastards can't get away this time! - General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller.

Only one diesel wagon I want: 140+ MPG diesel hybrid AWD. Front diesel rear electric. HOT.

Must be the latter. A quart of good Scotch is just a tease. Nothing on the list for the Jeeps this Christmas  Long list for my Highrider, though.

Strange Vibration With Acceleration
Thunderbear replied to Dracokain's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well, apparently some of my posts didn't migrate to the new board. But the inspection plate is the plate covering everything around the starter in this picture. You have to drop the starter to get it completely off. That's going to take a special inverted torx looking 12 point socket, if the bolts are original, and one of them is a real joy to try to get to. The plate is held on by four bolts, I think, not sure, since my inspection plate came in the bed of the truck: so I had to get some bolts to fit. -
Wow. Nice work. How does the 242 like the manual trans? Read more than a few people posting that didn't recommend it behind a manual.

Hurry Help Before Sunday!
Thunderbear replied to CallmeMaybe's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When mine wouldn't fire up reliably it was because the nut holding the starter wire on wasn't tight enough. Usually it's simple.
