  1. How are you guys holding the throttle plate open? I was going to run a compression test today but I didn't let the engine warm up. And I didn't want to dump all the heat I just got working in the garage. :ack:
  2. Thunderbear

    Teardrop!

Love teardrops. If you haven't, check out the Expedition Trailer section on Expedition Portal for some killer ideas. Also, if you don't need that tailgate, I could use it :D
  3. What political position :dunno: This sounds interesting. Paypal is notoriously anti-gun. It's cost them a lot of the 2A community.
  4. Grill, headlight surround, and headlight swap. Mounted the courtesy light brackets.
  5. How about us 86 2.5ers.. pre-90 cluster that matches cylinder count, or post 90 adjustable, correct?
  6. Did it a couple times to some Heros. Made an awful phone actually usable. Haven't had to root my Infuse, it does everything I want without having to root, with a couple minor exceptions.
  7. Bought it a place to live. And a place for me to live too..
  8. Good thing he doesn't _need_ to sell it. Ain't happenin at 5 grand for an unrestored two decade old 2WD.
  9. Put it back together, and fired it up.
  10. The basic engine is the same, but your '89 has throttle body injection and an ignition system from a consortium of Renault and Bendix in Europe. In 1991 Jeep switched over to using a Chrysler-engineered multi-port injection system on the 2.5L engines. Do you happen to know if the MPI system is adjustable? I think a 2.7 stroker would be fun, but not with the TBI.
  11. Thanks, I ended up blowing it out with canned air , but I got it. Loosened all the manifold bolts and jacked up the exhaust slightly. Somehow despite all the other bolts lining up perfectly and being tightened, this one wasn't aligned with the manifold. I now own a tap and die set thanks to a closing time run to O'Reillys.. that did me zero good. Oh well, I needed one anyway. Were you able fix your randomly revving tranny?
  12. They're all the same thread pitch and length, yeah? I can't get the number 1 bolt to start.. the one directly in the center.. all others are in. It came out fine, no problems, but will not go back in. The number 2 and 6 bolts weren't even there, just empty. I bought new grade 8 hardware to replace. There's not much room to get a thread tap in there, and large potential to screw the pooch if I do. :fs2: Also, I don't have a tap and die set yet. It's the bolt that requires the TBI to be yanked for access.
  13. I've heard they do the same thing to a 35C, but no one seems to know if they will bolt to a regular 35. Motion? Any idea?
  14. Connector plug on AX5:
  15. Stock as far as I know.
  16. Got a link to those Delta conversions?
  17. Have a set of 265/75/15 Hankooks on my MJ. No trouble at all. I meant to get 30x9.50s though. :ack:
  18. None of the ones I'd recommend outside of BFG ATs are still being made :o If I hadn't got some craigslist specials, it would either be the Michs horn mentioned or Discoverer STTs, like we have on our work trucks.
  19. That is EXACTLY what I want my interior to look like, minus the woodgrain and factory stereo. That is exceptional.
  20. Actually no, my workplace @#$%ing rules :D
  21. Did you remove the head bolts first? Just asking. If I could get it off without that step, I'd be able to retire tomorrow.. :rotf:
  22. Ripped it's head off. And bought it a fan shroud.
  23. I got it, by being a bit less gentle than you described. Levered against the intake manifold with the wooden handle of a hammer, just enough to wiggle it and start separating it. There are some vac lines in the way, not really the throttle body, but having the TBI out of the way makes it accessible with a ujoint. And since it's now raining, I can't do $#!&. :hateputers:
