  1. whats up and welcome, I just wish you were here in Jersey I have the same exact truck but in charcoal grey, there's not many cc members near me (North Jersey), so anyways good luck on the build and if you are thinking of getting rid of any unwanted parts PM me and likewise if you have questions and am able to answer pm just the same. Good looking truck by the way
  2. thanks comanche kid will check bolts and tps
  3. Hi all, i know for you more experienced MJ owners this may be a dumb question, but here goes. I have an 86 XLS with the 2.5L with a high idle problem, recently replaced every vacuum tubing i can find even the one on that ball under the passenger side headlight, replaced MAP, recent tune up still no relief. I ordered the only replacement that looks a lot like it, since I can't find one for the Comanche listed anywhere, so I ordered part from amazon its AC Delco 19160423 Idle Speed Control Motor it states that it will fit 1986 cherokee 2.5L now my question is this did the two,the MJ and the cherokee have the same engine that year. I read somewhere on the forum that another member used same part from chevy which will be AC Delco and it worked. :dunno: by the way did clean TB but no change Thanks for any help on this
  4. is this the same procedure for an 86 2.5L
  5. cool. will have to check it out.
  6. thanks Manche Kid, I love this place! :clapping:
  7. I remember seeing somewhere in here, the promo code for club members, it is for hell creek suspensions, does anyone know where I could find it?
  8. had the same problem, ended up being in between the firewall, the problem, there is no way to get to it, so I removed the wiper grille and still could not reach it, also if you have a garage, put a work light in the front floorboard inside the truck, turn off the garage lights and just like water, light will follow the least path of resistance and you might find it like that, but in my case had to cut a piece of windshield mount plate, make all the cuts so that after you replace all the trimming you won't be able to see the cuts, hope this helps :wrench:
  9. Thanks Thunderbear great picture exactly what I needed
  10. thanks dasbulliwagen, that is a big help, I was looking at it all the time and didn't realize it! ha will see tmrw. thanks again
  11. thanks for the response gonna try it tomorrow also will look at IAC valve, but not sure what it looks like, :dunno: does anyone have pics of it?
  12. Hello I'm a Nube I know, but just got my first MJ and on start up it idles to 3K then drops down to about 1k, but when the engine warms up and I am at a stoplight the idle is high around 1500 to 2000. Changed all the vacuum lines, needed to anyway (original & dry rotted), changed the MAP (broke nipple pulling old vacuum line) I have read the post but it seems they post for 88 and up, I have an 86 2.5L XLS 4 cyl. any ideas? Thanks, BTW this is the best place on the net thanks to you guys I am really hooked now- line and sinker! 1986 XLS 2.5L new floors this week, alleluyah
  13. PB Blast Stop Corrosion Spray I spray the Crap out of the whole underside of My 86 MJ will at least slow down the rust until addressed. Oh, and true Your wife & girlfriend will get jealous, owned for only 2 mths and girlfriend is complaining that I spend more time with Mary Jane than her. lol
  14. same here just got an 86 xls MJ bought for a grand to sell for 2, but couldn't part with her, so changed all the vacuum hoses and just repaired the drivers side floor pan, I bought one from e bay but did not quite fit in right, too much modifying so just go w/sht metal better off, Gd luck :wrench:
