mvusse
In 38 hours time I covered 940 miles. Strasburg, OH to Chicago, IL to Kenosha, WI back to Strasburg, OH. Overnighted in a sleeping bag in the bed at a Walmart in Indiana somewhere. I also found out it needs more gears. That 4 cylinder only got 19mpg running 75mph for 344 miles straight (at over 3000 rpm), but averages 27 doing 60.

I'm not that far from Kenosha. what ya doing in these parts of the woods anyways? Since the Honorary Consul here in Cleveland didn't have the equipment to take my fingerprints I had to go to the Consulate General of The Netherlands in Chicago to get my passport renewed. Could have also gone to NYC or DC, but Chicago was closer, plus I'd never been there before. Then I thought why not hop the border to find a few geocaches in Wisconsin and add another state to my map. Last time I'd been in WI was 17 years ago (just travelling through then). I did remember you live in those parts, and if I hadn't been so busy this week I would have contacted you.

banshee
Friday afternoon 1. Mechanical fan/shroud removal, addition of two 10” 1,550cfm electric fans mounted directly to new three core radiator, first starts at 180, second at 195degF... 2. flow-thru coolant bottle removed and thrown as far as I could, hoses replaced strait to heater core, and finally installation of dodge inline fill spout adaptor ‘radiator cap’ with 16# cap… Results Truck still got stuck in Indiana mud down in the creek, with water in the floorboard about 3 inches deep, but awaiting a pullout in 90deg weather engine running temp 185 to 197degF while idling, ‘I’m happy’ but still testing, more results to come… B…

SoloCamo
Installed a new steering box and lines which tightened up some slop in the steering and fixed what was a waterfall of a leak of power steering. Since I had removed the sway to get to the pitman arm (in which the pitman arm was quite a battle to remove), I thought why not replace my very worn rubber bushing with some greasable polyurethane ones. The overhall highway and steady "high speed" turning has improved so much its ridiculous. Mostly due to my old shot bushing, but those polyurethanes really tightened up the front end
2360
After 514,000 kms (308k miles) I decided it was time to go to one of those quick lube places and get the power steering fluid changed and the rear diff fluid. Used a synthetic in the diff, that should be a bonus next winter. :wrench:

philbert001
Tape measure alignment. (Bad death wobble after making new UCAs, and swapping in lift from my XJ.) She was toed out pretty good! Installed new radiator. I was dumbfounded by how plugged up radiator was! (My whole driveline was recently stolen from my XJ, in order to finally get my MJ on the road. 90 XJ only had 113k on it, so good healthy renix for the manche!) Anyhow, I was shocked to see that just by swapping in a new radiator, I picked up 10lbs. more oil pressure, (30lbs at Idle before, 40lbs at idle now!), and my volts gauge went from 13 to 14! The only thing I can think of that could have caused everything to get healthier, is that the radiator was so plugged up that the water pump was actually robbing engine performance building up the pressure required to flow water through the radiator! That's my best guess on that at least. Anybody got any ideas, or thoughts on the subject?
jeepsouth
Removed the factory radiator fan ,and installed a 14" electric one. Working well so far.
