Did you ever find it odd that only one side has this nut? I thought my set was just messed up but now that's how it is.

Rylee if you need one I think there might be one or two left as NOS.

It's for clearance....there's not enough room on the inboard side of the framerail for a regular nut to fit.  I don't remember exactly what it is, but there is something right there in the way.

I have one. Without your post I was going to say I was missing one.

Interesting.  I've never seen that crazy looking fastener before.  I have aftermarket tow hook brackets and the kit just used carriage bolts through the frame rail.

To clear the alternator?

I'm thinking that, yes.  Not so much an issue with a 2.5 like 'Scout says.....but definitely a problem with a 4.0.

No clearance issues with the 2.8 either, for anyone wondering. I have a set of the brackets installed and both sides have the same nut and bolt.

Instead of making a new thread I'll revive this one and add to it. I will be adding these to my truck. Will I have to remove the bumper and the small cowl peice made of plastic to do so? Also will the tube bumper that's welded on interfere with the mounting?

Rylee,

Are these parts that were sourced from MOPAR?

I thought MJ's from the factory had the tow hooks welded on.

Thanks

Reviving an old topic again. I was just curious if I could have front tow hooks and a front receiver hitch? TIA.

The front hitches I have seen pictures of have tow hooks built into them and the factory hooks would not be necessary.
