Drahcir495 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Are you f'ing kidding me  . How is that open to the public? I need to seriously relax after watching that - my chest hurts from the anxiety attack.
Motion Offroad Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 One question ran threw my head the entire time I was watching that... How many hands were they using to hold the video camera?!? Sorry but I'd be holding onto the line along the side with BOTH hands.
mvusse Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Part of me wants to go there so bad I could die. Part of me warns me not to because I could die. Now *that* is a dilemma.

DirtyComanche Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 2 things: I like how the film maker doesn't bother to tie-off. Of course there is nothing to tie-off too at a few points. They need to put more rebar in the concrete next time. Ugh.

jtdesigns Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Several people have lost their lives on the walkway in recent years; after four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances. However, adventurous tourists still find their way onto the walkway to explore it.

It seems like there was a 'way around' whatever they did to close it. So, umm, comancheclub memebers trip? Anybody?

BLHTAZ Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I have seen that video before, but I watched the whole thing again because it is friggin' amazing.

Sorry but I'd be holding onto the line along the side with BOTH hands. ??? or i thought the same but at one point his shadow looked like a larger camera was attached to his stomach, i.e. it was not moving as he stepped. probably just for still photos though.
reson46 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 That is incredible. I hope they go through with the renovations and open it to the public. Willy
Sir Sam Posted November 17, 2008 Author Posted November 17, 2008 That is incredible. I hope they go through with the renovations and open it to the public. Willy Ya, theres something to be said for a nice new walkway that would be safe and the public could go walk. But part of the allure of that I think is the shambled shape of the walkway........cmon, holes in the concrete path!
Eagle Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 They need to put rebar in the concrete next time. Fixed it for you. Lordie, I have a pretty severe fear of heights. There is NO way you'd get me out on that walkway. Especially knowing that concrete without rebar has next to zero strength. I couldn't believe the way the guy just stepped right next to holes ... like, didn't he realize that's where someone else fell through?
deziped Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Only if I'm packing a chute & 700' don't leave much time there either.
fiatslug87 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Next time I climb Half Dome (Yosemite National Park) I'll have to take a video camera. Here are a couple of still pics 4700 feet above the valley floor.
