The journey to rust seems to be a universal tale in almost every Jeep. For those of us up north I believe it began right about the time they were ready to start bending metal for the body. Sometimes I wonder if the last process before paint isn't a good sodium chloride bath.
And I think the repair plan laid out seems solid.....(pun intended)
I think it's easier with the bench. Justhahadhave to find a generic cup holder that fits between the seat and mini console. Years ago when I had my bench in I had one from Wal-Mart with a ratchet in it that would hold to mega slurp chips from the local fuel station.
I believe both of those will be a close but not perfect fit for a mj. I have a no window topper from an unknown short bed truck. Best bet is to just break out a tape measure and see how it will sit on your bed. Something else to think about is clearance for a cargo light if you have one.
Washington is a bit far for me to travel for a set. I have 6 now. don't really NEED them but am always searching for backups and future trailer wheels.
I am on the hunt for a good condition rust free bed, both rocker panels and both cab corners. I know its a long process to find these but am on the hunt.....
Let me know what you have or can find please.
Is there a member close enough? I would buy those in a heartbeat but can't pick them up right now. Anyone close interested in retrieving and storing them short term for me?
That helps. If you can get some pictures of the wiring that has been chewed there are people here that can get you started on figuring out what they are for. If you take the lower dash panel off it is much easier to access all the wiring under the dash.
some background on the situation might be helpful. Was it running and driving before not starting? Has it been sitting abandoned in a field? There are alot of possibilites as to what can cause your issue. Not sure I can help much beyond that other than suggesting random things to check.
Edit: I just looked back at your other posts. Looks like a clean truck. Have you examined the wires under the dash? What makes you say mice chewed them? Have you found any other evidence of mice?
