  1. Officially took ownership of a 2000 WJ last night. Hoping to clean it up and make a backup/daily driver out of it. It belonged to a friends mother that passed away several yrs ago. It has been sitting in his drive for a couple years now, while I tried to talk him our of it. Sorry no pics yet. I am getting tools collected to go revive it when I get some daylight. Just hoping I don't make it too nice. The wifey is already talking about snatching it.
  2. I went thus route due to the condition of my harness. I went through the harness on the bench and made all necessary repairs and upgrades before swapping into the truck. Actual swap only took a couple hours and that wasnt trying to rush. I used a xj auto trans harness w/o c101. Now have the option of the auto swap if I desire. Edit: forgot to say. If you have time to be able to source and repair the harness I would recommend this route. Lets face it, every connector in the harness needs cleaned and ox guarded anyways. What better time and method than installing a "new" repaired harness. If you need the truck running quick I wouldnt be afraid to cut/solder to remove c101.
  3. Indeed it is. Its a great option for my situation. It will take the place of the wad of jumper cables behind the seat.
  4. Pics..... It has a hardwired circuit breaker in it for safety. I think it will be handy to have in the truck. I always have a few batteries charged with me anyways.
  5. I have never owned a booster pack per say. I have always just drug an old battery and cables around. However this year for christmas my boss got me an adapter that fits my 18v makita batteries. It is custom designed and built specifically for jumpstarting. It is not an authorized makita tool but has been tested and works. The company that made it builds them to fit all major manufacturers battery platforms. I have tried it out a few times and it seems to work well. I'll get some pics later when I get to the shop.
  6. I wish we had a font for sarcasm......
  7. I have always felt that steering stablizers are just banaids for bad steering componets until you get into larger tires(33"+). Just personal opinion.
  8. Why are the going zero on the free way?
  9. You will probably be money and time ahead to just regear and swap to smaller tires. A stock comache will fry tires pretty easy even with a 2.5. I think an ls would be overkill but to each his own.
  10. X2. Typically a 55mph vibration is a tire issue. don't know what it is about that speed, but it seems to be the magic number for tires.
  11. Should have bought a convertible. Woulda saved some work prepping.....
  12. Acoustic Hills or flat land?
  13. When you inherited a junkyard but really wanted an RV.......
  14. Just passed in the other direction on 421 turning on to historic by way. I waved but am riding shotgun in a car.
  15. without pickle and onion on the burger for this guy rifle or shotgun
  16. True. But it might be useful for someone just getting started. And for those with a battery set and no available impact, cross platform battery adapters are available out there.
  17. That is a motorshed. Similar to a motor home but used to store mowers and such.
  18. I pride myself frequently in building one match fires. You can't cheat the basics without alot of propane. Pete look into top down fire building. It will help greatly. The key is starting the fire high in the fire box to encourage the draft to find its way up the flue not into the room.
  19. I have a problem and it's name is Makita https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CA04RH4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_gRoaGbMG8BTKN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  20. I have been heating solely with wood for the last 12y+yrs. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Current shop stove, we call her Grandma I also have an England 28-3500 wood furnace in the house. Sorry can't find pics of it. But here is an older pic of the mj getting it done to make up for it. I have stopped using the mj for firewood now that I have an atv, and cut local to my home (within 2mi). I pull my utility trailer and save the mj some stress.
  21. No, You heard a guy at the tavern talk about using them.
  22. Looking at pics I would say the BDF mount will require cutting of the "crossmember" webbing under the radiator to fit. This is something required of most aftermarket hidden winch setups I have seen. It doesn't look like you would need to cut the fenders as it uses the stock bumper.

  24. I want to add a correction to that statement. After some thought I would change one thing if it was mine..... The mileage!!!!
