(Black widow) Mexicali Baja California Mexico!!

Wow! Welcome to the Club. -
If it looks butchered and amateur it is more than likely a garbage axle swap.

That looks great with the Gamblers! Get some 2" hub centric wheel spacers and keep the Gamblers.

Truck Turns Off While Running
shelbyluvv replied to Jaime's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I know my truck is a 97 converted HO but I have a similar issue. I know for a fact mine is the ignition switch. If I hang a key ring from it, it will jiggle the tumbler just enough the shut it off. I need to adjust the switch but I am lazy. It is a long shot but it is possible yours could be doing the same. -
My Hummer is an early truck and the brush guard is different. The easiest way is find the LT in charge of the Maintenance section and tell him you need one. There are tons of them laying around usually. They get bent all the time. Get two bent ones that were thrown away. Just make sure the bends are on different sides. It will fit the door opening like it is made for it.I had a write up on Jeeps Unlimited years ago from the set I made for my Cherokee. If you google "jeeps unlimited tube doors shelbyluvv" it will take you to me thread. I think the pics are gone but I'm pretty sure my signature pic has a pic of them on my XJ.

Swing by the motor pools and look for old HMMWV brush guards. They are a perfect fit for tube doors. You just have to cut and trim some. No welding required.

1989 Eliminator Restoration, lots of pics!

Any tire that looks kick @$$ will generally wear out fast and have poor handling on wet streets. Goodyear Duratracs or Threadwright Guard Dogs are the way to go. At $115 a tire I like the Treadwrights. https://www.treadwright.com/individual-product/141- 32 replies

1. Mileage will suck nuts unless you regear the axles to 4:56. Thais is another $1000 for both sets installed. Power will be down drastically as well. 2. a mild 3-4" lift with some 31s is a better DD combo than 33s any way you slice it. You can get away with using your stock gears as well. I see no reason for them on a DD. 3. $500 is a decent deal for them depending on wear and type of wheels that they are on. 4. You will need a lot of trimming to run 33s on a 4" lift.- 32 replies

Daily driver. Go SOA or not
shelbyluvv replied to pitbull4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My truck had a 97+ front end. I took it off and had 96- fenders and nose that were red blue and white. I stumbled on a XJ that had all black parts in the yard and traded my stuff plus $20 for the all black parts. The shell was a gift from a member here. I really like it but it will be getting removed for my chrome LWB roll bar. -
Central Jersey Motor Parts 732-446-3738 They may have one. I did a locator and they came up as the only place in the country with one. Worth a shot.

SOA with 5.5" to level the front and 31" tires. My plan is 33's in the future. -
It looks like it has a D44 front and rear. I just hope he did the leaf conversion correctly. All in all it is a clean truck. $1200 is a much better deal.

It turned out great man! Who did you have paint it? For $400 I may have mine painted as soon as I get the water leaks fixed.

What makes the bed liner bad is the fact that it holds dirt. The red clay here in GA will get down into it and it will look like crap in a months time.- 32 replies

Are you really going to "bed line" a red Eliminator? I think that is a huge mistake but it is your truck. What part of Georgia are you in?- 32 replies

She probably won't see day light in quit some time. She goes into a storage locker next week and will stay there until I find a place with a garage attached to it. -
Those tail lights are worth some coin to a XJ guy, They are about as rare as MJ tail lights.

Worth every penny! EDIT: I see the inside of the pan is stripped. Ummm, yeah... replace the pan. Just drill a hole in it to get the oil out and be done with it. -
When I was living in the barracks I would get a bed load of trash every Friday morning. We had field day Thursday night and they would use my Ranger as a trash can in on the way out Friday morning. I ended up putting a camper shell on it. I've either had a tonneau cover or camper shell on every truck I've owned since.

I have an S3 as well and think it is a great phone. I up graded from a DroidX and I really miss that phone. The HDMI out port was awesome. You could stream movies right to a laptop or TV with ease.
