  1. You have to host the photos at another site then use the URL from there VIA the little Image tag in the reply to topic area. Sorry not very good at explaining things, but hope it helps. Photo bucket is what a lot of people use, it's what I've used, but I think it's now a pain. Want a quick easy cheat? Do a post on craigslist, that will work too. If non of that appeals to you, email me a couple photos, I'll see what I can do.
  2. Doc.

    would you wheel it

Actually, they were mainly used for mail routes In winter. But I'm sure other people used them too.
  3. But he said he replaced the blower motor (and it made no difference).
  4. Doc.

    would you wheel it

    Low rider edition?
  5. So the "cobra chin spoiler" what is this off of? A mustang I assume? what year?
  6. Doc.

    New bumper

Why all the threads? Why not just post your pics etc. about this truck in one thread? I agree, good looking truck
  7. There's an old saying when it comes to, what's my "old car" worth? It's worth what you can get for it. In my opinion, there is no cut and dry value on older cars. Someone can tell you their 72 Gremlin is worth 20,000 but if the only guy that finds it interested in it is me, then you won't be selling it. It would help us if photos were available to see what you see. At the end of the day you're going to have to decide how bad you want it, and if you could build it for the same money (or less). If it's a nice solid truck done right, 6,000 doesn't sound too crazy considering how much work is involved to do it right. I agree, if he's going to drive 200 miles to trade, he must trust it mechanically anyway. What's your general location?
  8. I look at that final price and think, I could pay off my house AND build a nice Jeep with that kind of moneys.
  9. Yes, photos are there now. Thanks! always nice to SEE what people are/were talking about.
  10. When it comes to animals on the road, especially at high speed, dog, deer, whatever..... sorry, I "stay the course" rather than risk total loss of control and something catastrophic happening by trying to swerve then over correcting. Cows, horses, moose, bridge abutments...whole nuther story. Same here, I was just saying. When something jumps out in front of me my foot goes for the brake, I'll swerve a little if I can, but I 'm not going in the ditch either.
  11. First time to check out this post. If you care, non of your old photos work.
  12. I had my 87 up to 70 a few times when I first built it and everything was still tight. Bear in mind that's 35's, lockers, 4.56 gears, 3 link up front, 4 link coils in the rear, and no anti sway bars. It was built for rocks not the road. I went down the road pretty well though, but it wouldn't have been pretty if I tried to swerve to miss a dog or something.
  13. Looks nice, glad you plan on changing the wheels/tires! Sure wish a guy could fins clean vehicles like that around here (Minnesota), then again the older I get the more I think I should just relocate.
  14. I was thinking just what he said.
  15. Sell your truck, buy a newer one with a stick. I also don't like shifting. It's tough to do much of anything (drink, eat, play with radio, etc.)when that right hand has to keep shifting all the time. I have a Focus SVT, fun car to drive but sure wish they came in an auto, the 6 speed trans gets to be a lot of shifting in any kind of stop and go traffic.
  16. :needpics:
  17. Didn't the XJ's have those same wheels for a year or two in the late 90's? Yes, I've had a couple XJ's with those rims. I want to say it was the country edition they were on?? The ones I've seen were gold or grey with machine finished ribs. If I remember right they had fake wood grain interior accents too.
  18. And after all that work, I'm going to ask about those headlights. What's with those headlights? Your 3 link looks real similar to what I did on mine, works great doesn't it!
  19. Not a "pro" tip, but a back yard tip. Do you have a come along and a tree? They can be very helpful for things like this.
  20. I run a 6 inch coil. When I had a 4 link it would wear links and even broke one once from flexing. I finally built a 3 link and love it, it flexes better than ever and the only issue with arms now is damage from rocks. Mind you this is a home brew not anything store bought. With radius (and some "3 link" out there) you can have this binding/twisting issue that could damage parts and limit flex. The thing I really don't like (for example) is if you have the front flexed out with the left front down, and then turn to the right, this makes the left tire want to roll off the rim from how it changes the caster angle. Wish I could explain that better, or had a photo, maybe someone else can do better.
  21. Just clicked this post for the first time. Out of all the photos that I assume should be there, only one shows up, the others are just little black boxes with an X in them. :(
  22. Longer than an XJ too.
  23. X2 2-3 lift and 31's. Cheapest, easiest, least amount of complications for street ability, but still helps a bunch off road.
  24. So, you guys are officially a bad influence. Won this 2000 at auction today with 128,000 miles. Found the smoke lights and a grille on Amazon. There is an ad on CL for a set of 2014 dodge challenger r/t wheels with tires, size 235 55 18 . Is this the same size tires you used? Am I reading correct that I'd need the 1 inch spacer then too for this car?
  25. Sorry the pics are so small, been a while since I went to save photos on the intranet. Photo bucket really stinks now from what I remember. I don't know why it saved them so small and I don't know why it won't let me enlarge them. Tried to use my website to host the photos there. That has been redone also and now I can't figure out how to update my own website !?! Arg. Anyway, thoughts? The more I look at these pics the more I like the unmodified cab.
