  1. My clock used to not display and/or the display was very dim. When it did display, it kept accurate time. I performed a dash ground upgrade. See Cruiser's Renix Tips #18. Once I installed the ground wire, it displays strong and bright. It worked for me. If you haven't done the upgrade, I recommend you do it first.
  2. A big shout out and a THANK YOU to Nick at @nickintimefilms! I was trying to apply the software update for my REM from 2016. I was trying to follow the instruction on his website to install the upgrade. I am not a computer guy. All my efforts were unsuccessful. I was emailing Nick with question and he was responding (Thanks again, Nick!). After several (ignorant?) attempts, I sent my REM back to Nick. He installed the most up to date software for me. Now my REM is running the most up to date software. Any MJ or XJ owner with a Renix (87-90) has to buy the REM from Nickintimedesign in order to see/monitor how their engine is running. Thanks again, Nick.
  3. Sounds like you need to check the pulley. Make sure everything is properly aligned and that the bearings aren’t bad before you swap another belt.
  4. From Frederick County! Who did your paint and body work?
  5. It would make me retch.
  6. When you fill it up, how many gallons does it take? That would indicate the tank size.
  7. There is a write up on fixing the PRNDL in the master search section. The picture links are gone, but the text is still there For fixing the gas gauge, you should test the wiring. Use a DVM. Make sure you have a good ground at the rear, driver's side light. See Cruiser's Tips. Download the 88 electrical wiring diagram to trace the wires.
  8. Th AX15 has a drop in the middle. The BA10 goes straight across
  9. Does Canada use a lot of salt on the roads the way we do here in the south?
  10. I picked one up at Sears years ago. Probably labeled Craftsman, but most likely just a repackaged Chinasium. I use it maybe once every two years. It works for what I need.
  11. When it gets to $3398, buy it!
  12. There was a TSB to install a ballast resistor. Some 87s got this from the dealers. I have an 87 parts XJ that has one installed. My original 87 MJ has never had one.
  13. Welcome to the addiction. Since yours is an 89 - I am guessing it is a Renix (unless a PO did an engine swap). A number of things to do/get to make it road worthy. 1. Perform Cruiser's Renix Tips 2. Purchase Nickintimedesign's REM (Renix Engine Monitor). This will show you how the engine is performing. 3. Download the 88 Electric Service Manual. 88 and 89 are close in electrical wiring. I am sure there are other things to do as well. Others will chime in with the suggestions.
  14. That was just the Highway Admin "rollover/crash test." I don't think it passed, however.
  15. My 87 MJ A CJ2a or 3a A CJ8
  16. Any blood on the seats?
  17. I have an old shirt, but I need to upgrade it before July.
  18. Everyone who is attending should get ComancheClub shirts and/or hats. Wear the item around the show. The club with the most attendees wins a prize. CC pick up that prize in 2019. We should try to show our colors and win it again.
  19. Pete, you beat me to it. I was searching for the thread.
  20. I am not sure about the grills. Mine has the 10 slot grill. I picked up an 87 XJ with the 8 slot.
  21. Most likely would be any stickers and possibly color options.
  22. Not "hood"?
  23. The Corvair had a rear engine. Why would the hood have louvres? Kind of like the Willie Nelson commercial of him driving an old VW with louvres on the front.
  24. I had a problem with mine where the vacuum connector on the front axle no longer held vacuum. It couldn't pull the collar over to engage 4wd. First I performed the CAD bypass to make the vacuum lines unnecessary. Later, I sapped axles to a non-CAD. Problem solved!
