If the ST is 50 and LT is 128, the ECM will pull the LT down to bring them to equal. It senses a rich conditions. As the LT drops the ST will increase trying to lean out. Eventually, the two will be (should be) equal. If LT is <128, the ST should be >128. The ECM will then increase the fuel to reach balance
What is your LTFT? ST is based on the LT settings. IF LT is above 128 (lean), then ST will read below 128 (rich) with a properly functioning fuel system. The ECU sets fuel injection pulse width based on the LT settings. The ST readings will signal to the ECU to adjust LT downward. Ideally, the ST should bounce above and below 128, while LT remains at or near 128.
The reason the passenger door lock works but the driver's door lock doesn't is the screwy wiring of the lock mechanism. The power goes through the driver's door switch across the cab harness to the passenger's door switch. Then the power goes to the locking mechanisms, both the passenger's and then back to the drive's doors.
So, the power to unlock the driver's door travels across the cab and back to unlock the door. Over 30+ years, the resistance has taken its toll.
I found a write up on installing dual relays to control the locks. I will search for it tonight.

If we have to stop using the name of Indian tribes, then we have to change the name of: Delaware, Indiana, N&S Dakota, Illinois, as well as many other place names, cities and counties.
When will this all end?
What axle does yours have? 86 could have either a D35, D44, or an AMC20.
The shoes and drums are all different.
If you are not sure, post a picture of the rear differential.
