Suspension and Tire options

If you really want to DIY, you can learn to do it and buy all the specialty tools. It's not rocket surgery but it's repetitive detail work and you must get it right. Most people pay a pro to do it. They will supply all the right parts. You drop off the truck and pick it up all finished. It's not cheap but it comes with a warranty and they're usually done in a single day.- 26 replies

I got the Phizer. My arm is a little sore and I have a very slight fever. But nothing significant so far.

Got my first shot today. Is it weird to start hearing a low murmor? Like a bunch of people talking? And I can't help but think I'm hearing one word over and over. Lo something. Lo... Q... Something like that. I think it's a name...

Crazy question...700r4 behind 91 2.5
derf replied to Scalped's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The AMC 2.5 has the GM small transmission bellhousing setup. So the Chrysler automatic came with that GM bellhousing. Welcome to AMC... If you get an early S10 with a 2.8 V6 and 700R4 it'll have the right bellhousing. The 4.3 V6 and all V8s had a different bellhousing. I don't know about the flex plate. I suspect it would need to be custom made. So it may be possible but it might not be easy. -
That was most likely a bronco sport. It's like a bronco only smaller. The regular bronco isn't out yet.

Yeah, headphones and a book was a good way to alleviate the boredom once I was a teenager. That doesn't work as well with younger kids.

I've started the tow rig project. I picked up a well used 97 F250 powerstroke to use as a tow rig. I got it for dirt cheap. It has solid bones but it needs basically everything. I am essentially rescuing this from a likely trip to the junkyard. So, especially given that we're in a pandemic, this clip seemed appropriate. I managed to get it running but I have a lot of work to do on it. I'm going to swap in a front Dana 60 in place of the junk TTB 50 that's in there. I have found a cheap donor for the front fender, hood, and bumper, as well as maybe some other bits I may need. I do have to recondition the interior and will likely have more engine and transmission work. But I should have it running and driving relatively quickly.

We had a bingo game that had 3 number sequences. The goal was to read license plates and find the number sequence to claim it. So for a plate ABC123 you could mark 123 if it was on your card. If you were slow like my dad, we'd see lots of plates as cars passed us. Looked a lot like this: https://www.worldmarket.com/category/gifts/toys-and-games/games-puzzles.do?template=PLA-2&plfsku=524983&mrkgadid=3282585816&mrkgcl=660&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=DecAcc&camp=ppc%3Agoogle%3Apla%2BMerkle_Shopping_PLA|Dec_Acc%2BToys&acctid=21700000001660222&dskeywordid=92700046652376232&lid=92700046652376232&ds_s_kwgid=58700005276978471&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007265821&dsproductgroupid=459145660244&product_id=524983&merchid=5165106&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=m&network=g&matchtype=&locationid=9028740&creative=260704783412&targetid=pla-459145660244&campaignid=1338863925&adgroupid=53808068855&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0oCDBhCPARIsAII3C_GxVC0sL_V1BYk5ROLSq1dZ1h6a-JVNJo1YGy0428c-8rkAMOEy25caApgFEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Someone will pay you for the axles. Ask $200-250 each and be willing to negotiate.

The zinc content alone is good for a flat tappet cam engine. Modern gas engine oils lack zinc.

Diesel oil is good for an old 4.0. I run 15W40 Rotella in my XJ with 180k miles on it. My MJ has over 200k and will run it when it's running again. I might step down to 10w30 when I rebuild the engine and it's "new" again. But probably still diesel oil.
