  1. Probably. But that "V8" doesn't make much more power than a V6...
  2. If you get one from from a chevy it will.
  3. GM used the NV4500 in the 1/2 ton trucks. They used the NV3500 in the S10 behind the V6. Many people put the 3500 behind mild V8s and they hold up fine.
  4. Looks good
  5. Not blinking is usually the relay in the fuse panel. Easy and cheap to fix. One is for turn signals, the other is for the hazard lights. Fast blink is burned out or disconnected bulb. You won't see that until after you replace the flasher relay.
  6. Did you check your blinker fluid? Sorry. Had to.
  7. It's a good engine but only if you don't live in a strict emissions area. I can swap a Mercedes diesel or TDI (or even XJ/MJ 2.1 diesel) that came in an 87 or newer car or light truck. As long as it came in a vehicle in the same weight class and it is the same model year or newer I can swap it. But even though it meets strict newer emission standards, Cummins never went through the CARB certification process so I can't use the R2.8 here. The 2.8 is sold in vehicles all over the world but never in the USA. One alternative is to find a vehicle from 1975 or older since those are 100% exempt here in CO. Maybe when I retire and move out of state.

The benefit of not having been shooting for a while: I have a bunch of ammo sitting on the shelf. The downside to not shooting for a while: I haven't been out shooting in a while.
  9. It's hard to predict what will actually last another 30 years. For what it's worth, RockAuto has a Dorman brand replacement manifold for just over $140. It's a bolt in replacement. Will it last? Maybe. Maybe not. But even the expensive aftermarket stuff sometimes has a lot shorter lifespan than you would think. Or it may last until the truck is nothing but rust...
  10. Exactly. My XJ and MJ are my toys and projects. My 2019 Subaru is a generic daily driver that just works. I don't have to think about it. I don't have to worry about it. I may replace it with a new truck to share towing and daily driver duty. If I stick with an old truck as a tow pig, I'll keep the Subaru as a daily.
  11. That was back in the day before spelling checkers. And people were lazy. These days we have spelling checkers but lazy people still mix up homonyms (there/their/they're, your/you're, moot/mute, etc.) so it's not much better.
  12. The buyout happened in the middle of 87. So it does make sense that data for the model year would have been pulled in.
  13. Not surprising that the AMC era stuff never made it into Chrysler's database.
  14. Both places don't want a bunch of uninsured vehicles running around causing damage. In Moab, they're having a lot of trouble with a bunch of (but not all) UTV drivers basically being idiots. Racing around on the streets, running open exhaust, etc. The town is fed up with the jerks. So they're cracking down.
  15. Just as a heads up. Your trail rig will need to be licensed and insured to run on most of the trails around Ouray and Moab. A lot of the trails in Colorado are actually county roads. Moab has been somewhat lax but is starting to crack down. But you need to drive to the trail head in either place and that means you need to be legal.
  16. It's worth doing both. Probably not in the same trip but absolutely worth making two trips.
  17. Up hell's gate, an optional obstacle on Hell's Revenge in Moab.
  18. Coming down Black Bear behind a stock 1974 Cherokee
  19. Best thing to come out of Iowa? I-80
  20. And some Moab scenery
  21. Looking down on Black Bear switchbacks.
  22. That was my rental JK. And yeah, I grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA. I know the lack of trails in that area.
  23. I ran those trails in my stock XJ on 235/75R15 tires.
  24. Top of Imogene Pass
  25. Telluride as we were leaving on Imogene.
