    Tiny/Small Houses

That isn't something I'd want to do every day.

    Tiny/Small Houses

Tiny kitchens suck. I do need some real counter space and cabinets for a few things. I also need real appliances including a dishwasher. I've lived in apartments with basically no counter space and it was "less than ideal". I can deal with I guess "medium" kitchens for myself. I have all of the basics when it comes to kitchen tools but not a lot more. I don't do big meals for lots of people and I almost never bake. So enough room to get something productive done is all I need. A tiny house with basically a galley kitchen isn't enough.
  6. Got the studs cleaned up, replaced some insulation, and hung some drywall. I have to move some stuff around so I can finish pulling the rest of the stained wall.

    Tiny/Small Houses

Right now for me it's resale value. I need to be able to sell this place when I retire. It needs to be big enough for that. For my retirement place I need a modest bedroom, guest room, office, kitchen, dining room, laundry/2nd bath, and a medium size living room. Plus shop. Enough room for me and a couple of guests. If I had family living with me I'd need enough space for family members to have privacy, especially me. The total space would depend on how much family.
  8. I'd bet they intended $6,000. And from the looks of the lug pattern it's probably a J20.
  9. I have also heard of 3.31 gears being optional in the early years. Rare in the XJ/MJ but possible.

    Tiny/Small Houses

Yeah, I'd probably need around 1,000 square feet at a minimum for a liveable house. Basically a 2 bedroom apartment or so. Maybe 1 bedroom if it was a big enough room. Plus a garage/shop. I have toyed with the idea of building a 50x50 shop with a loft apartment above half of it. That would give me around 1,250 square feet for living space.

    Tiny/Small Houses

I like the idea of a small house. At least once I'm in my retirement house. I'm in a house for about 15 years or so before I look at downsizing. For now, my medium size house is enough for me.

I think @jdogand I are both going to pick it over tomorrow.
  19. Yeah, I like the look over the other flares they offer. I wonder if they will ever make the rear flares to match for the 2DR XJ/MJ.
  20. "As long as I'm in there" syndrome kicking in. As long as I have the drywall ripped up and I'm redoing it all, I'm going to do a little wiring. It's easy to spend over $100 at Home Despot.

    RR Caboose?

They haven't needed a caboose in a train for a long time. All they really need is an end of train device that at most has some electronics and a pressure sensor for the air line. Railroads really don't like spending a single penny they don't absolutely have to so there has to be some other compelling reason for them to be toting an extra car along with the rest of the train.

  23. The TJ 44 is the same. Though the TJ Rubicon has a carrier that requires a special setup kit since the carrier shims are different. But you don't want to waste time with a Rubicon carrier. There are better lockers than that. The MJ and XJ 44 uses the same carrier as the Chevy/Dodge/Ford 44s used in the 70s through into the 90s. The JK axle is the "next generation" 44 that is a confusing mess. Different ring and pinion gears but the non-Rubicon carrier is the same as the old generation 44 for 3.73 and down (but works for all gears 3.21 through 5.38 in the new generation axle). The JK Rubicon 44 uses a completely different carrier and different bearings that won't fit in and older 44.
  24. The MJ Dana 44 is a standard axle using standard bearings, shims, carriers, and gears.
  25. I make it out to Cedar Rapids, IA to visit my family once in a while. But it's usually only for holidays and I'm usually driving my Subaru (or whatever will replace it).
