I'm converting to tow mirrors that I found in the junkyard off another MJ. The passenger side glass is missing. What's the best source for replacement glass? If there isn't one, what is a good source for a replacement mirror head with glass? It doesn't have to look 100% exact, just close.

Yeah, there's several aftermarket options. And that's my fall back.

I've never taken one of the factory switches apart. I don't know how easy it would be to modify them. I have a few switches to play with. I might try taking them apart to see.

Yeah, my goal is to have 3 choices: 1. Factory normal operation (off) 2. Force first gear (on 1) 3. Force second gear (on 2) And I want to do it so that if the computer wants 3rd or 4th, the switches are bypassed. I have the wiring and relays figured out. I have an aftermarket switch that would work. I would prefer a factory style switch if one exists.

So I'm planning some modifications for my project Jeep. I'm looking at using one of the factory switch holes for a custom function. Short version is I want a toggle switch that will let me force first or second gear when I shift down to 1-2, or to leave it in "factory mode" where it shifts itself. I have the wiring figured out with a couple of relays. I just need a switch. An aftermarket switch will work but if I can find one that looks factory, it would be cooler. The switch needs to be a single pole double throw switch with on-off-on positions. It would work similarly to the XJ rear wiper/washer switch except that the wash position on the XJ switch is a momentary switch (i.e. it goes back to off when you take your finger off it). What I want is to be able to set the switch up, down, or middle and it stays there until I switch it again. Was there ever an application that used an on-off-on switch that wasn't a momentary switch? If so, where would I find one?

I like to show off my rear end as well but that usually gets me in trouble.

I ran into him on the trail yesterday. The truck looks good and did well on the obstacles on Hatchet Gulch (moderate/difficult trail). He'll have a new muffler on it in the coming days. It dropped off on the trail.
