  1. The Grinch with my Eagle yesterday in town for a holiday party.
  2. I’ll have to look into those some. Don’t worry about it. I love learning this stuff.
  3. I’m curious about the quirks too, but I haven’t found anyone who has actually done it, I just know that it can be done.
  4. Good call. Thank you.
  5. The main reason that I am looking at the G80 vs an Auburn, Detroit Tru-Trac, and others is because it would be going in the front of my Eagle. That car will only every really see snow and maybe sand or small rocks depending on where I go to school. I have no desire to go mudding. I just thought it might be a cheap option worth looking into.
  6. I see on that post that they also said January for tail lights.
  7. Could you post a picture of the handbrake from inside the truck? We should be able to confirm then if it is a handbrake out of an XJ. You are correct, no MJ came with a handbrake.
  8. I’d check for spark then. How old are your cap, rotor, plug wires, and spark plugs?
  9. Do you have fuel pressure? Can you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key? Can you confirm that you are getting spark?
  10. That is awesome! I have the magnet of @500 MJ’s Comanche.

I’m thinking it’s an early one. Note the fender badges are the COMANCHE ones instead of the Comanche ones.
  12. Thank you! Most people think it’s ugly at first, but it grows on them. I’m not saying to buy one anyways, but I’m not saying not to either.
  13. DO IT!!!! I told @eaglescout526 he should do it too with Chunk or Little Red.
  14. No Cherokee (or any Jeep, IIRC, I know no XJs or MJs for sure) came with a D30 rear. It should probably be a Chrysler 8.25. That would be a good axle combo, but I’d only pick them up if they are 4.10s. It would have come from the factory with 4.10s if it’s a 4cyl 5 speed rig. 4cyl autos had 4.56s, 4cyl 4 speeds has 3.55, 4.0 autos had 3.55s, and 4.0 5 speeds had 3.07s. Some XJs with the towing package had 3.73s, I’ve heard. You will have to weld new spring perches on the XJ axle, but that will be the case with most axles.
  15. Yes they do! It absolutely is! It’s an extra 7.5’ fake tree that we had at home.
  16. I went with the Walker setup from RA for my MJ. It’s quiet, but has a good sound.
  17. It drives! Now I just need my rear tires to arrive, I need to change the front and rear tires, rebuilt the fuel pump, swap the throttle cable, put the hood back on, and get a new battery. It’s close!
  18. Kinda MJ related, kinda not. Come spring, I am going to be rehearing my Eagle. It has a D30 front. I have read conflicting information on where the carrier break is on a D30. I have read that there is one carrier for 2.35 gears, one for 2.63 to 3.54 gears (the one I have) and one for 3.73 and up. I have also read that there isn’t another carrier—there is just the 2.35 and the 2.73+ carrier. Does anyone know which is the case? Disclaimer—I know regrading a D30 sounds like a waste, but because the Eagle is IFS, I can’t just install and XJ axle. Now for my locker question. I know that the G80 isn’t the best locker, but for my application it would be all that I need (the car will see some snow and dirt roads, nothing too crazy). Does anyone have any experience with the Volvo D30 G80 locker in their front D30? The only info I have found is that it can be done. Do I need the whole carrier out of the Volvo? Thanks all!
  19. Agreed, I wish I knew of a loca one that I could test fit. A tri-power would be cool too.
  20. If I were you, I would look at doing the following: 1. Source a non-CAD D30 out of an XJ with a 4 cyl (93-00 maybe? I need to be corrected on that). That will get you 4.10 gears and gets rid of the crappy CAD system. 2. There are 2 ways you could go with this. 2.1 Source an 8.25 out of the same XJ, if it had an 8.25. 2.2 Find a KJ Liberty with with 4.10 gears. This way will give you rear discs. Note for 2—you will need to weld spring perches on either way. 3. Find your AX-5/231 or your AX-15/231/Dakota bellhousing. You will be able to use the stock XJ front driveshaft, but, as you know, your rear will have to be shortened.
  21. They definitely do!
  22. Hmmmmmm, the intake and carbs are on loan from a friend. He is thinking up a price for them now.
