  1. Nice……Mopar battery in a Ford
  2. I’ve always been told that the rear axle needs to be within 2.5 degrees of the crankshaft. That would also be within 2.5 degrees of perpendicular to the end of the tail shaft of your transfer case.
  3. @eaglescout526 will probably know the answer to this.
  4. Before I go the aftermarket route on chrome front end pieces, I wanted to check here and see if anyone has a chrome 10 slot grille, headlight bezels, and the header panel trim for a Renix era truck. I know that the upper and lower header panel trim pieces are not reproduced, so at the very least, I will need a set of those pieces.
  5. Does anyone have any experience with this front bumper kit from Crown? I would assume that the metal is probably a little thinner than stock, but that’s better than bent or rusty, IMHO. Plus, I like the little bumper guards. https://www.jegs.com/i/Crown-Automotive/077/52000177K/10002/-1
  6. Someone NEEDS to get that 21 slot grille!
  7. Moving back to the mainland or are you staying out in the ocean?
  8. Good work! That think looks stout! Way more than you need for a 4.0, perfect.
  9. These cars actually do have an AMC35 under them, it’s nearly identical to a D35 though.
  10. I do like it. That is a goal for the car for next summer right there. I have really considered getting a grille guard though because I really don’t want anything to happen to the front of this car.
  11. @carolinajeepman, did you ever get chrome over black ones figured out?

Oh I wasn’t being difficult, I was just curious. I believe in some years, even the passenger side mirror was optional too, but someone else would have to confirm that.

If it’s a 4cyl 4 speed, it should have come with 3.55 gears. Does it have power steering? I know that was an option on these trucks, believe it or not.
  14. Here is some info if you have a 4.0 and are keeping it Renix.
  15. Ooof, hopefully she gets healed up quick. That looks like an expensive one to fix too.
  16. If I had the money, this would be tucked in next to my blue truck. I really want a longbed to go with my shortbed, and I would want one pretty loaded up.
  17. I think I know the difference, just from looking at both axles. I think the AMC35 has a big nut right at the center of the brake drum.
  18. Update, I hate D35s! Wellllllllllllllll, I was driving to school today when, after pulling away from the stop sign near my house, I hear a horrendous grinding noise. I pulled over to turn around to go home. It was a pretty tight driveway so I had to back into it to turn around because I didn’t want to back onto the highway. When I put it back in drive, now we have neutral and a terrible squealing noise. Turns out, the D35 (or probably an AMC35) rear just decided to give out. Perfect.
  19. Well, the clutch and brakes are freed up. Now we just need to make sure it will all be working correctly before we put the tractor back together.
  20. Well, it snowed for the first time over the weekend. Good gracious this car starts great, even in the cold.
  21. Well, we played with the engine a little more today. We pulled the exhaust manifolds and spark plugs. The valves and plugs all looked pretty good. I forgot pictures, I’ll see about some tomorrow.
