‘88 Pioneer - Asheville, NC
89 MJ replied to Tentrax_Brent's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Being that it is only a 2wd, I’ll say $12,500. -
Not that it’s a competition, but my dad, brother, and I can get an engine/transmission/transfer case/wiring harness out of one of these in about 7 hours and then have the body back on the frame and rolled out.

On a related note to eaglescout’s comment: I don’t think their hand is particularly worried about flowers…

The number of bytes that I can upload has been getting smaller and smaller, for no apparent reason that I have found. My mad total size on this post is 758.38 kB. I’m uploading a picture of the last time I posted a pic.

My guess was going to be ABS.

Some of you have some wild college stories. I don’t know if I want to hear the ones without the vehicles involved.

That looks like a lot of oil for an RMS. I’d check the oil pan gasket first.
-
We need more pics of it finished though! It is looking great!
-
She runs!! It just needs exhaust, shift linkage, a throttle cable, and some better wire routing and it will be driveable.
-
That was a very low optioned truck, but it looks like a solid one!

I feel like this thread deserves an update.

Looking good. It really seemed to brighten up the building inside.

It’s Sunday. Is it on yet?

If those are Wagoneer axles, @Jesse J might be able to help you.

This is the answer. I love these in my truck.
-
I have considered that too. Thank you.

I think that’s the 84-86 style, yes?

That thing is hideous, IMHO

I heat with fire wood and have used my Comanche to haul wood. I always cut with a friend who has a full size 3/4 ton truck. I always have a chuckle when I load my 10' utility trailer and the bed of the Comanche and haul out more wood that his full size truck, especially when the trails get tight. CC is Awesome! Why? I daily drive my Comanche, and with that comes the challenge of maintaining a 30+yr old machine in good working condition. There is no way I would be capable of doing such without the knowledge and experience of the collective members here. This forum has saved me from giving up and selling the MJ several times and for that I am grateful. There are many on here I consider good friends even though we have never met in person, I know I can call on them in a time of need and they will be there to help to the best of their abilities. Congrats, @watchamakalit, you’ve been here a long time and you deserve this one.

Engine Replacement Must Do's?
89 MJ replied to BizarroStormy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On a new motor, I’d do plugs, plug wires, a cap and rotor, a CPS, and maybe a coil. -
Finally something slightly productive. I replaced the wiper blades and painted the wiper arms. The wiper arms I believe are off of a ZJ or WJ. They are the same length, but have a J-hook which is nice. We also tracked down the misfire. Turns out, it had some really old Champion spark plugs in it. 3 of them were only finger tight, so that was perfect. We are getting closer to having a driveable car. It ran plenty rich at some point in its past.

Is the starter solenoid good? Sorry if that has already been asked.

It feels good bring that close to having it driveable.
