  1. I did my best to push for the 2012 anniversary of the eagle rank. I fell short of two months into 2013 unfortunately. There was three scouts I know whom all three were brothers and got there’s by the age of 14-15
  2. That sucks. I can’t say for absolute certain but my troop pushed and supported those achieving their eagle and I want to say we help contributed to the plus 1% increase in the national eagle rank achievement. Used to be 4% up until my last two years.
  3. don't feel unworthy, sometimes it happens when you can’t find an active troop. I’ve met a few who wish they could’ve continued but they’re troop stop being active. Hell my troop took on two other scouters who wanted to achieve their eagle but their troop wasn’t being active enough to help them out.
  4. That’s fricken hilarious. I never thought to think it sounds like what’s a hen weigh. That’s awesome. That was the same thing for me when I applied to target was they asked about my Eagle Scout and one of the gentlemen who was interviewing me started talking about scouts and what not. It was awesome but he shortly retired after my first year there. I need to get me a sticker that says that. All I currently have is a AZ BSA license plate. Lol that sounds like the typical stories about philmont. Never been, wanted to go but just did other things that required money else where like NOAC.
  5. Holy crap! That’s amazing. I actually remember hearing about that thing happening too. Was almost like a freak thing that happened. Those were always fun to say. My dad used to say “what the hell away” to remember the pronunciation of the last one. I have yet to set foot in WA water but damn it was cold. I can say it was the fastest I have ever swam in my life when I jumped in.
  6. Hmm. Shows what I know about the trims. So chief is highest for short bed and Laredo is for long beds.
  7. Agreed and thats why I had to ask about everyone on here. Only 5% make it to eagle these days, but thats pretty awesome! I think my neighbor across the street was in the scouts for a little too.
  8. Lol all the others waters stopped being cold after that experience. Was probably the best trip of my scouting tenure. We actually did a swim check before leaving to avoid doing it up there but they made us anyways. Also met another scout(aside from those who were apart of the Alaskan council) who was from the Papago council down in Tucson who moved up to Alaska with his family.
  9. Fair and valid point. Those cables arent gonna last forever either.
  10. It was a blast. Gave me the don't complain about how cold the water is card. We had to do a swim check up there and it was like jumping into a damn ice chest. Damn that sucks.
  11. Probably the one thing I wish I couldve attended was the 2010 Jamboree for the 100th anniversary. Instead me and a select few older scouts planned a high adventure trip to Alaska that year.
  12. Nice! Did you partake in ceremonies team? I feel like I am the only one who attended the 100th anniversary NOAC. Awesome red sash though. Youre right about that too. Boy led troops often thrive which is how they should be led with supporting adults.
  13. Hey aint nothing wrong with that at all! I posted a topic about this in the pub so we can pick up from there.
  14. JBWeld it is! Lol. But no I will do this the right way. can't skip around it.
  15. That I believe, sometimes you just end up in a shady troop which I presume why you were pulled. Sometimes its better to get out of dodge than to stick with it.
  16. Thats a shame. Speaking of derby racing, I learned from one of the techs at work who him and his son used to be in scouts, but apparently techs from other dealers in the valley would get together for some derby races and create what would be not BSA legal derby cars and race them all day. JMO it had to have been at least a year or so ago.
  17. JMO I think I actually recall you and I talking about that many many moons ago. Pete, Ive learned something new! Again, awesome.
  18. Thought has crossed my mind too. I was gonna try some wire crimpers first, the solder ought to really help with that actually.
  19. Fricken awesome guys! I had no clue honestly. 89, don't let those "fumes" catch up to ya, as the adults in my troop used to tell us.
  20. Pete you have piqued my curiosity now.
  21. I am genuinely curious now. How many of yall were in the Boy Scouts growing up? What was the highest rank you achieved? And were you elected into the Order of the Arrow? You don't have to share all that but a "I" will do just fine as an answer as well. As my user name says, I achieved Eagle back in 2013 and got the three palms. I was elected into the OA and reached Vigil honor as well.
  22. Sounds like a good plan! I tried to edit my post before you could quote me but I hit 6 instead of 3. It was 2013 when I earned it. Alot still changed! Lol. I also got all my palms when I could before aging out. Tried to get the cooking MB before it became eagle required again too.
  23. Nice! Hmm, I don't know much about the later years and their trim levels. Wish I did know more as they still could have the 4.0L. Yeah Chiefs do not pop up much and if it can be saved, it should. And congrats! I earned mine back in February 2013. I feel old thinking about that....so many things have changed since then.

  25. This isn't entirely true. If you look at the CJ's and MB's, Chrysler has gone as far as letting others have the Jeep name(via license agreements) to make something like a restoration part. Like you can get the AMC logo with the Jeep name next to it brand new if you'd like or CJ5 and 7 nameplates if youd like too! The Jeep floor mats I got for my truck, the bag says "Authentic Restoration Part" and has the vintage Chrysler pentastar logo on it. Same goes for the decals from 87-90 MJ's, they have that authentic restoration part label on it. I also think its fair to say AMC probably loved the Jeep name more than any of its past and present parents.
