Colorado red(BE AMC code and HE4 Chrysler code) was available on XJs and MJs from 87-about 91 to 92. 84-86 and probably earlier Jeeps had Sebring red as their red option. I think that color code is 3B.

Since it’s an 86 the VIN plate with the paint code and interior color code is on the drivers side of the front support under the hood by the fender. So right by the front drivers head light.

Reupholstering door panels
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Very true, but I do not know if anyone makes a cut to fit water barrier, at least not that I have looked into it. -

No...but I watched a video of a guy repairing his SJ door card with some sort of pressed PVC board, looked like it was going well but nothing more came of it. It would be nice though(which I plan on doing) to replace the bad door cards with new ones on panels that still have really good material. -

Thats a smart idea. But also reminds me of when I went to Alaska as a high adventure camp and one of the scouts that also went up claimed he used 7 cans of water proof on all his equipment and it still failed lol. But I am sure water proofing improved since 2010 and will give it a shot. -

Nice alright! I think I have a way to try and do it the factory way. I will have to report on my status when I get what I need to pull this off. -

2.5L electrical fan
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’ll do some research and see what I can find. I was looking more to do something that could bolt to the condenser as there’s already mounting points that go through the condenser to the radiator. unfortunately the 4.0 and 2.5 don’t share the same serp set up. But I also haven’t tried to install a 4.0 alt and AC bracket. -

Perfect. Did you do it the factory way with some staples or something like 3M? I found some of the back board material and I have two door panels that I have no attachment to to give it a shot and make new backs. -

I found the same ones you probably found and I think I am going to venture down that path and start restoring perfect fabric door panels with new cards. -
86 2.5l 2wd restoration/work truck
eaglescout526 replied to strictlyxjs's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Yeah those are hard to come by and chances are AMC dealers probably only got one for their shops and who knows how many some of the current operating former AMC dealers have or have tossed plus the ones hidden away like the two you have. -

Depends on who is looking for those scanners. I know I would love to have one but I myself don't know the value. -

I did some research and I might be able to pull this off and start making new door cards and redo door panels. -
Has anyone tried to reupholster their door panels the factory way? Like using staples to hold the material to the door card? I want to give this a try with a door panel fabric I have. I know 3M adhesive is an option but don't want to do that if theres a factory way to do it.
