The most straight forward swap is to get an XJ or MJ l donor with the 2.5L AX4 set up but with 4wd and it will give you the idea of what the setup is and how to assemble it on your 2wd MJ. Mostly it’s making sure you have matching front axle ratio and right era T-case.

No.1 are the fronts and 2 is the rears. I am not sure if you could make the rears work at all.

Cherokee 4 door will work just fine. 84-96 should work. I am unsure if the later years.

Woot!! I replaced my rear brake cables and holy crap why do they make such a difference. I mean only one was hanging up and dragging but I replaced both and it’s like I’m gliding on butter. Oh and they still stop and work as they should lol. Here’s to another 35 years with those cables.

Such a confusing rabbit hole the key thing is. I wish I knew better but all I know is that keys that have an A on them are different than keys that have a J. Same goes for the GM keys as I think theirs follows the same lettering idea. Course that’s the ignition. The locks I don’t know much about. I should compare my two keys and see if RA5 is that much different between 84 to 88

See this is what I think when I see 84-86 2.5L carb stuff. AMC used Fords duraspark module to fire the coil and spark the plugs. I’m almost wondering if it’s just old Ford stuff.

Those are the same ports I have on Chunk. I have no idea if the ECUs can even be read anymore. They are probably more lost to time than Renix is. There’s nothing about such on the Eagle forums?
