Lawn Cher has one. There is a pics of it in a recent trailer thread at NAXJA. I will see if I can find it.

Window problem and vac routings
whowey replied to PlumCrazy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The label under the hood should show you the correct routing. But, you are using the Haynes manual for its best use. I usually just use them to keep the workbench from getting beer can rings. If you look in the files section on the Yahoo group, I posted a vaccuum diagram there. -
I went through them two summers ago. But it was during the drought, the water was ankle deep.

Hmmm, Chewy the offical NAXJA MWC 'U-boat' captain. That is an 'earned' snorkel. That is from the Badlands. Pete didn't you guys run the tubes at ComancheFest?

The main thing is get the correct adapter. My local speed shop said the 'grant catalog' showed the same one for something GM and sold me that. It wasn't the correct one. Plus, when I looked at the Grant online catalog the part number didn't match what I had. Anyone know the part number for the adapter? Is it the 3196? Its in the Q-tec catalog. But Mr. Gasket has a good online catalog.

x2 May have a pic somewhere though. Too many HD crashes....

I've used PAM(yes the cooking spray) for the same thing in a pinch.

Slap on a new filter. They are what 7 bucks??? Plus if you haven't done it in awhile it probably needs one anyway. When is the last time they filled your farm tanks? When we had ours we used to fill all the vehicles and equipment before we let the dealer fill them. Then we let the tank settle for a day or two before pumping out of it.

My wife is slobbering over the thing... She is already planning on trying to get me to sign my name on the dotted line on Premeire night. YJ???? Just a CJ, with a new dress. How do you make a Weber carbed 4.2 more unreliable? Put a Pugeot behind it..

Aren't those traction bars going to hang up on the rocks???? :D It is a nice looking truck. I kinda thought about building a street 'manche, but then I saw all the 4wd parts I've got laying around.

Rick, did you mug an old lady to get that thing? It is really clean. Lose the speakerbox, and you have yourself one really nice start to a good combo truck.

I didn't know that $25 of the $40 went to UFWDA. That's really kewl. 8) Naxja just sent something ridiculous to UFWDA, Like $9K IIRC, That is what NAXJA will be handing over every year because of the new membership rates at UFWDA. Screw you, and your little dog too. No reason to bring the dog into this. Rocky loves everyone. Me on the other hand, I don't like anybody, least of all you ;) My wife says STFU! BTW, I don't have to ask to bring Jeep parts home.

I just look at it as I have saved hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars because of NAXJA, so paying a little to keep the site running is just a thank-you. Also, included in membership is UFWDA membership ($25 value) which helps keep trails open and fight for land-use issues. Same here, I lurked and fixed my junk, after they helped me get through my fuel pump electrical mess I joined. Honestly I stay out of the majority of the forums anymore and post mostly in the chapter forum, cause I know those guys, and we can bust balls on a friendly level :) Shut up stupid... Your just lucky we let you drink our Kool-aid. ;) Been a member for about 3 years now. By far have saved much more than the 70 or 80 bucks it cost me for the membership. BTW, I have yet to meet a better group of people to be with on the trail or off. But, it is the members who pay, who pay for the support of the site. Unfortunately, running a site that large requires some serious cash. I have to admit though, some of the tech is starting to really get down to the JU level.

Cherokee - Mj compatibility??
whowey replied to Bonkers's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Front doors, and everything from the top of the A-pillar to the front bumper are the same. The main exception is the body harness. But like they said, the front D-shaft and T-case if you are doing the AX-15 swap. -
Question on switches and gauge thingy
whowey replied to feerocknok's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have seen two of them. One in a loaded 84 XJ, and the other in a 86 Mini-Waggy. But the pod on the other side, held the low washer light. 4wd part-time, 4wd full-time, 4wd low, on my 88 Fleet XJ. The low washer would flash on an off as you went around corners if the washer fluid was close to the limit. The sensor was in the bottom of the washer tank, on two pump tanks in the the XJ's -
Welcome to another IL'er. Pretty soon we will outnumber those damn OH folk, then we shall rule forever!!!!!!!!!!! Bounty Hunter, and one other guy here are pretty close to your Hood. Mark(Lawn Chairs) is just over the river in MO. Here is one for sale right in your redneck of the woods. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96294

I found one from my very first Jeepin run ever as a driver. That's my old family truckster XJ, in the background. Here is what that poor XJ looked like its last days.

Some of you remember this little discovery of mine. Well, I finally got tired of driving the MJ this way and bought some new shocks for it. I got out all the weapons of war. I figured out all the crud, rust, and accumulated mung would make this into a battle of wills. I PB Blaster'd the retaining nuts and prepared for a titan struggle. I hit the first nut with the impact gun. It came off so quickly I thought it just flat sheared off. It came right of. All four came right off, and even the shocks slid right off the studs. But the was a generous amount of never-seeze residue all over the removed parts. It took about 20 minutes to change both rear shocks. I don't think I have ever done a set so quickly. BTW, the other shock was rusted out on the top it. Good day. I forgotten how nice it was to hit bumps with actual working shocks.

Tube bending isn't bad. Just take your time. Plan ahead(read: buy extra) I always try to think of it as the same as bending DOM stuff. You would measure DOM tubing 4 or 5 times because of not wanting to waste any. Use the same care with the small cheap stuff.
