Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. **not trying to take over this thread** bryguy contacted me on jeepforum and asked me for some pics of my MJ so here you go. some kinda hood pics like you wanted. and some pics of the truck. and check out the street sign on this last one! i hope these are what you are looking for bry. i don't really have any super recent ones. she has been parked for a little while because the insurance out here wants to put an immobilizer in her (apparently shes a most at risk vehicle for theft) and I'm just not really keep on the idea. if you have any other questions just find me on JF again.
  2. almost a total jeep family here. my comanche is a summer cruiser. and the daily is our 01 WJ that I'm hoping to put a rustys 4.5 inch lift on within the next year or so.
  3. those are factory ZJ wheels. as for the tires i dunno
  4. i will let you have the loudest MJ title but the fastest MJ is my title! :thwak:
  5. the best thing you can do (is what i did) take your factory I-6 rad to your local rad shop and tell them your plans. then tell them you want them to add a filler cap and make it into a 4 core rad. then it will fit back into the factory position and you will have more room for your engine swap.
  6. nope i have a TH350 with a stage 2 shift kit
  7. i think i would have a problem doing that dash conversion won't i? my speedo cable is a cable and in 91 didnt they change the comanche (at least i dunno about the cherokee) to a fully electronic dash? how did you / would i get around that?
  8. in my previous comanche i toasted 2 D35s in a span of 6 months with the stock 4.0L I-6. along with one of those misfortunes the peugot tranny went too. so would all of you guys agree that i should look in the direction of a "tru-trac" who makes it?
  9. the truck will be primairily a cruiser. but every now and then i will take it to the track just to have a little fun.
  10. the d35 has stood up for a few years now... but i guess its running on borrwed time. yes guys I'm running a 350 with 355 horse and 405 tq. so 8.8 is the way to go. with disc. i think I'm gonna have the rearend shop that I'm having install the diff build up the LSD in it. anything else i should do/ look out for?
  11. good to know thanks for the input guys. I'm getting pointed in the right direction. now the question turns into should i still do the 8.8 conversion?
  12. yes but a limited slip won't be as reliable on the track as an air locker...no? an airlocker will make the axle "solid"
  13. ok guys i want some form of limited slip on my truck. i don't really want posi or anything like that cause i don't wanna be scrubbing my expensive tires all the time when i turn. now lisen to this idea. what if i put an air locker in the diff. it would allow me to choose when my "posi" engaged and disengaged. i think that would be an awesome idea! keep in mind that my truck is strictly a street truck opinions?
  14. ok guys I'm looking to hear the stories about how the install went with your rear axles. easy, hard, complications? i wanna hear it all. even if you have another axle in your truck i wanna know what you have and the benefits. you have all seen my truck and can clearly see the direction I'm going with it and i need a rearend that will take alot of power and abuse!
