  1. TJ yoke not YJ... they are both 23 spline
  2. What's the difference between a YJ 231 front output yoke and an xj yoke? Besides 30$ difference ?
  3. It is an early 90s, so it has the standard u-joint yoke not the DC joint.
  4. OK guys so I'm wrapping up my 4x4 swap Just in time for snow... I've encountered an issue. The AX15 and 231 Tcase is out of a YJ that is in my MJ. Number one the front output is different, and number two the front driveshaft I have is the wrong length. (It's from an auto xj) by swapping the output flange will I be OK with the auto driveshaft or will I need another?
  5. So I'm starting a new project, building a buggy for my son. It's not going to be a fancy one with Sami axles and a transaxle.. it's going to be a lawn mower frame, hydrostatic rear end mounted in the center of the frame with sprockets running a chain drive to a front and rear axle. The front axle I'm using Dana 30 short shafts, knuckles and unit bearings. The body I'm going to water jet willys MB body panels. Here is where you chime in with your info, I've searched for leaf springs from a utility trailer.. lowest rating I've found is 300# ... any suggestions?
  6. Go under the DIY section.. I believe there is a list of driveshaft lengths. Not guaranteeing any 2wd XJ info?
  7. 2wd**
  8. I'm currently running the 2nd AX15, I know I have gone and asked this question before.. I just was reading a post and the guy stated that he had clearance issues with his drive shaft. I wanted to ask the manche gurus first. Haha. I don't have a pic because I do all my surfing from a phone and the only place I have pics that are uploaded are on facebook. Is it really all that necessary to swap out to an external slave? I was givin' a brand new slave and clutch with the transmission.
  9. Anyone know much about ax15s? I picked up one from a wrangler with the number 52108050 which came up as a 94 up. The thing that stumps me is that it is an internal slave. (Did someone swap bellhousings?) Also.... will I need to clock the transfer Case up during my install? Will it cause problems for the driveline? Thanks Egghead
  10. Right on! New nut or old nut, Eagle?
  11. Eagle, thanks for the reply. I was unaware of using a new nut everytime. I was not planning on getting a new crush sleeve. Is this going to be a problem?
  12. Looks like a blast! Nice looking MJ!
  13. So I'm in process of swapping out my dana 35 for an 8.25 with 4.10s. The PO took the pinion flange off for another one of his jeeps. He ended up getting me another, now I'm pondering on replacing the seal only problem I'm running into is the crush sleeve design.. since he took the old one off and didn't mark location of the nut to return it to the proper position. Is there a way to do this by an estimate torque spec?
  14. Ok so I picked the ax15 up today, the number is 52108050. Comes up being a 94-96 ax15. The guy gave me a brand new clutch with it, but autozone part numbers are saying it does not match to my 90. What changed that I should be aware about? I have a 92 HO 4.0 that has a brand new clutch sitting in my garage, I was planning on using that clutch with my renix, unless it won't work either?
  15. My 90' currently has the 2wd AX15, I should be able to use this crossmember correct? I've heard different tales of the clocking of the yj 231. Some people say you have to beat with a BFH, others not. I guess I'll just have to see for myself! Egg
