  1. Sorry typing fast...the rod for the jack (and that lowers the tire down) was behind my seat. It is inserted below the bed (above the bumper) to lower the cable and the spare tire. Wayne S
  2. I think there is a rod behind the seat that feeds through the rear bumper to turn a gear/cable which lowers the spare. Wayne S
  3. Let us know how it goes, the stealership wants big bucks for the stuff Wayne S
  4. Look above the brake pedal and see if your pinching a wire...that would be my best guess. Wayne S

    Go Tigers!!

And here I was thinking it was the Auburn Tigers. The Razorbacks thumped them and I was hoping they would beat Florida...oh well, this latent Michigander still roots for the Wolverines, hates the Spartans, the Lions and has never been a fan of baseball (its fun to play and I did for a season, but boring to watch those overpriced primadonnas) Wayne S
  6. Warm welcome from Razorback Country. From what I have gleened from the very knowledgable people on here is that the lil pup is a very good (and reliable) mid-size truck. I have recently aquired mine and the three things that pop in mind is there will be rust around the fender flares.....not necessarily through the bed (the inside of mine is perfect) and it came from the Springfield MO area. Two is they used a sound deadener under the jute carpet (probably to block the heat) that is a dissimular metal that the floor which causes some cancer to develop there as well. Three, depending on the model and motor, it will get you into trouble faster than get you out...these things are quick. I can't voice any opinion on the 2.4l, but the 4.0 is a neck snapper. Wayne S
  7. WOW YOUR TALL! :D Otherwise I'm watching this thread to see how it goes...contemplating the same thing, except I already have the compressor mounted and trying to decide if I want A/C or air? Wayne S
  8. If your putting bolts in that need shearing strength, then use a grade 8, but if your needing something with holding power a 5 is a better choice because it will stretch and not break like an 8. Almost everything on an engine is a 5 (except something with thin aluminum), but everything on a good suspension is an 8 The way to tell the difference is that a 5 will have three (3) hash marks on the top and an 8 will have six (6) marks...just in case anyone wanted to know :brows: Oh and I share the desire for JC to come to my house, but the missus may object ;) Wayne S

I guess I'm going to have to change avatars.....now that more of us are showing up :chillin: Wayne S
  10. That rod is a hydraulic switch or metering valve that controls the brakes when there is a load in the back. My advice because that thing is made of unobtainium is to route a line to bypass it and then remove it from the truck...they will never know and if they do, then you have the part already removed for possible rebuild (if it can be in fact, rebuilt) Wayne S
  11. Actually Gents...she is not unattractive! :brows: But enough about her...the real meat is that this group as a whole persuaded John Cappa, the editor of Jp Magazine, to actually respond to the rantings and arguements about that issue.......Stand up guy is a very good discription, because I don't think you would have got the same response from Hot Rod or Classic Cheby. I have looked at a few issues, yes they seem to be written around the 11th grade level, but I would rather my kids talk Jeep than dope. In this "digital age" magazines are finding it harder to sell because of sites like this, so they rely on advertising to keep them afloat. It's those advertisers that give them the tools and parts in creating the articals with hopes we buy what is being sold. We don't stop watching Two Guys in a garage or Trucks just because we can't afford the tools or parts, it makes us dream up ways to do the same thing.......cheaper :D Wayne S
  12. Dang, I wish I had got here sooner....I emailed the gent about the cd and basicly told him I was looking for something that covered all the wiring and vacuum routes and if this cd covered that stuff better than Haynes or Chiltons...he told me no so I didn't bid on it. If it does have good stuff (FSM are scarce) I'll send over a couple a bucks if you burn me a copy as well. Wayne S
  13. Let me be the first to say :needpics: Wayne S
  14. Wow, I learned something new...homebrew is something we make and drink on weekends  Wayne S
  15. Look just like the picture up top, the only black on them is brake dust and the centers are chrome with black Jeep circle. The clear coat is peeling on the outer ridges in some spots, but the "spokes" are bright and shiny. Wayne S
