  1. Absolutely, and it would be a 'bolt-in'. All of the brackets are the same, and in the same places.
  2. The full-time 4wd is phenomal for wintery weather. Especially the sloppy crap we see up here.
  3. Yes, I had one in my last XJ, and its going into the one I'm building now. Not anywhere near as noisy as my Lock-Rite was. A little exciting the first time in the ice. But you get used to it.
  4. Besides the fact that thing is a rolling poaching violation in IL. Its just plain fugly, and wouldn't fit 90% of the hunting places around here. Looks like a refugee from Mad Max...
  5. Hey how about a quik hijack..... Is the gravity box full in your avatar picture????
  6. Know alot of guys who drive Cheby's with that junk electro-thermal system do you?? I will have to see if my 90 has the chrome piece. My parts XJ doesn't have it, and my MJ doesn't either, and the XJ I just parted didn't have it either.
  7. Don't blame you, we sent this to you.
  8. I misunderstood your first post. The switch for the light is connected to the T-case not the CAD, so the light should still work.

I've seen both the sites before. But how is the wheeling? A pic or site, can make it seem much better than it really is.
  10. Speakers in the dash? :hmm: They were in the Limited and Briarwood XJ's. BTW, when the headlight switch goes bad it will cause the dashlights not to work. Usually, a few twists back and forth will get it working at first. Then slowly that won't work, then its replace the switch.
  11. Its probably one big vacuum leak. Start at the vacuum bottle behind the bumper and work your way out. Replacing the lines will make it eaiser to chase. You just posted the two dead giveaways on this system for vacuum leaks. Unscrew the sun visor. IIRC, you can get a washer in the bracket to tighten them up.
  12. There are really two kinds of Jeeps. The first is the one where you get hundreds of thousands of almost problem free use out of, with only the regular maintence stuff needing done. The second is the maintence nightmare. But, having a competent mech, look at it will certainly help avoid that. You also want to check for rust, specifically in the quarter panels, unibody frame rails, and floor pans. The engine and transmission are considered 'bullet-proof', meaning a rock solid combination that will give fantastic service. 174k certainly shouldn't frighten you from this truck. But like any vehicle, its prior care will go a long way to determine its future performance. I would certainly turn a first time owner onto a Comanche, or its brother the Cherokee. Reliable, plentiful parts, and HUGE aftermarket support. Learning to do your own work, is one of the 'joys' of being a Jeep owner. It is part of the community and spirit that defines us. The person listing the truck doesn't really know Jeep motors though. The Iron Duke was a Pontiac motor, that was never used in the Comanche. The 2.5l used in the Comanche was a AMC/Jeep design. The Pontiac motor was used in the CJ series for a number of years.

How are these places to wheel?? I passed on a promotion and transfer this spring that would have had me in B'ham. We were looking at houses literally 10 miles from Gray Rock. But I never even realized that there was good wheeling that close. No it wouldn't have changed my decision, but it certainly would have made it harder.
  14. I'm using one I found at the Farm and Fleet(Kinda like TSC). Its a style M or N, I can't remeber which, and I don't remember the brand name either. It fits right, except for the console cut-out. I just slit it a bit right there and drew the fabric under the seat. It was listed as a 'mini-truck' seat cover.
  15. Are you saying I have a TV problem???? Well, no for a change I was actually wrenching on Sat, and I was driving in the parade on Sunday. BTW, those shows are on during dinner time. My wife and I sit in the TV room during dinner and watch while we eat. Saturday is Off-road shows, Sunday is football.
  16. That's probably because I refuse to visit JF. RC is the biggest POS known to man. Absolute garbage. The ride was horrible. It was riding with covered wagon springs, and the shocks could have been replaced by concrete blocks for better dampening Had an RC kit on my first XJ. The shackle broke completely in half on the first obstacle I tried to cross. I had to weld it together to get home, they refused to warranty it because 'someone welded on it'. I had a Rusty's lift for almost 3 years. No problems, I didn't cause. But it was a BB with an AAL so there were no welds involved. I sold it to another Jeeper when I was done with it. The quality of the parts and welds, and powder-coating of the RE kit was so far above what I had expected. I couldn't believe how good the welds looked, and the fact the coatings were actually applied evenly and with a bit of care. Its only been on my XJ for two days, but the ride is firmer than stock but is exactly what I wanted.
  17. Could be a case of Daimler 'revising' history. Kinda like when they said it was a 'merger of equals'.
  18. The air cleaner in the first pic, is off a different Cheby. It was meant to 'face' the opposite way. that square black thing is a breather element. It should have a hose running to the passenger side valve cover, if it was on the correct motor.

    Go Tigers!!

Wow that's just about Detroit's entire payroll there with unhappy faces...

    Go Tigers!!

I know we got our WS last year, but I was really hoping they would find a way for both teams to lose that series. Suddenly I'm an A's Fan.
  21. I agree with everything said. But 'Stone Cold Goldberg' made me stop watching Trucks! every weekend. So technically it WAS the content that made me stop.
  22. They built new Wal Marts here where the decent folk live and left the skanky ones where the nasty's congregate. We don't have any amish, we've got mnenonites(sp). Think amish with rusted out pick-ups.
  23. :agree: when i read the mag at work i don't even read the pages she is on but the other guys at work think i'm nuts..lol i tell em i bought this to read bout Jp's and not look at chics I tell them same thing. If I wanted to look at a dried-up skank, I woulda bought LowRider. You should have seen the horny attack out of the lot when the new Q-Tec catalog was laying on my desk. The one with the 'UPS Girl'.
  24. Not on the crap I buy. Can't even get oil in the Target here. My sister calls them Tar'-jaat- the fine discount boutique. For those Yuppies who really can't afford their Beemers, but won't go to Wal*Mart for their Mac and Cheese dinners.

    please reply

That's just funny. :rotf: :rotfl2: 8) did they buy that? :agree: Yes. I threw a for sale sign on the dead one a few days later for cover though.
