  1. I have two friends I know that met ladies on dating sites. One used a BUNCH of the big name ones, met some good lookers. But most of them had mental issues(needy, wanted daddy, couldn't understand relationship meant no screwing around). He now just dates around, he's happy and spends his money on beer and his motorcycle. The other one met a local girl on Yahoo, and they got engaged after dating for almost two years. They probably could have met anyways, being they only lived about 15 blocks from each other.
  2. Go after a Geo Metro. 3-cyl, stick shift, ugly as sin... Dirt Cheap, 50+mph.

    Ebay

Who is paying ebay more money? You, paying no fees or idiot sellers paying a listing fee, a final value fee, plus any fees associated with the 'extra' services they might use. You are a buyer, ebay(and its investors) don't give two $#!&s about you. All they want you to do is register, and click on auctions so they can keep their hit numbers up.

    Ebay

Why would Ebay want to stop them? They pay a listing fee for each indivual auction. A multiple available auction doesn't cost the seller as much as 15 listings. But many sellers do rape buyers on shipping.

    NAXJA poops.

I've never met the Orange County group of the So Cal guys, but I have met the Inland Empire guys. Pretty damn good set of guys. I travel too much for work and I get tired of eating alone. So I posted up that I was going to be in the IE for a couple weeks, and they set up a M&G while I was there. Now when I am drug kicking and screaming to CA, we get together if I have the spare time. The one member I know snatches stuff and sells it E-bay, doesn't live in So Cal, he lived in Nor Cal. Now he resides in the MWC.
  6. Your kinda short of info for a real decent answer. Any street use? What size/style of tires? Welded rear on anything but a full time trailer queen, is a bad idea. Too much of a drivability sacrifice. But a welded front is 10x worse.
  7. There is a company that operates an airport shuttle in Kansas City, that has the back half of a Dodge Mini-van turned into a trailer to pull behind the Dodge mini-van they cart people in. Its all painted the same color, and done very well. The rear hatch is still used to load it. In a wierd sick way its pretty good looking. I followed a guy one time down the interstate about 40 miles that had an old Escort wagon turned into a trailer pulled behind his VW Vanagon. Very bizarre, and strange. Not good looking.... From reading your plan, I'd be concerned with moving the axle forward. You would be shifting the useful center of gravity for the trailer. When you load stuff into the back, you would need to get it further up into the trailer to keep from getting the 'wag the dog' syndrome from the trailer. If you kept it light, as in a bare bones camper it wouldn't be bad. How about get an early D35, no C-clips/no side gears? I always wanted to add some PVC sewer pipe inside the rear roof of my trail jeep to carry spare drive/axle shafts. Another thought, you could add a provision for a battery/inverter in the front cowl area. You could have 12v power inside for some camper lights, or a 12v heater.
  8. I manage a group of Hispanics at work. My boss and I had a discussion, that their lack of skills in English was affecting our productivity rates. As they can't read the shipping orders, cartons, or understand my instructions. My goal was to get him to lean on HR to hire people who spoke english. They hired one made him my foreman sent me to a course at the local Community College in Spanish for Supervisors. Company payed my tuition/books. In addition because it was during my off hours, they payed my travel back and forth to the college, and gave me Comp. time hours. Suggest to your store manager, they pay your tuition and book fees. You will learn spanish to better service these customers. Helping your store manager's all important bonus. Then you acquire the skills, the store will see additional revenue. Plus, you keep the MARKETABLE skills when you decide to leave. You end up with the long-term benefit, and the store and specifically the manager receives the shorter term economic advantage. You should NEVER skip an opportunity to gain additional marketing advantage in yourself. This isn't a political comment, or a cop out. I sincerely believe that if the Hispanics are going to come here and expect to benefit from our system, they should at the least put forth the effort to participate in the system and not expect to change it for their laziness.

    NAXJA poops.

Your right, you didn't see a notice if you weren't already a member. They should have communicated that better. I don't understand the thread dating issue, threads always show up as 'newest reply' threads first. I do see alot of dead threads being revived though.
  10. Two refineries up there????? Yeah!!!!!!! I guess I won't have to scrap my bio wheeler plans, when we move!

I have a very simple question for all that are responding in this thread. Do you pay anything to Pete, to help cover this site's costs? Do you send him a cut off any sold in the classifieds? I'll place a good size wager that Pete doesn't recieve much if any revenue from the stickers/magnets/etc. So he provides this site with whatever donations he gets, plus the goodness of his heart. Now multiply the traffic 10-15 fold. And make the site owned by a corporation. Who exactly is supposed to pay for NAXJA's bills? Well, its the users, or more appropiately the members. There are specific reasons why those forums were chosen. Its where the majority of the asshats cause the most problems.... Members(remember the people that pay the bills) were frustrated over the garbage. The BOD did what they were elected to do. They came up with a way to help control the flow of garbage, and hopefully raise a few more dollars to help relieve some of the burden on the members' wallets. The issue of not being able to finish your threads is currently under discussion by the members. But it seems like it may be a technical issue as to why it needs to be a clean break. There still are national sales sites. JeepForum and JeepsUnlimited are still around. Or Jeep Classifieds(I don't know wether that is fee based or not).
  12. I have the same one, except mine is water damaged. There is a picture of the infamous/rare hidden winch....
  13. I bought a set of 33x 12.5's Mud Country's tonight mounted on 6-lug Chevy/Wagoneer rims for $100.
  14. I'll see if I can find what the kids did with my digital, but you'd be surprised. The Firestone Destinations ride flat at 40 lbs. They needed that much pressure to take the spongy feel out of them at road speed. Even at 35 psi they still had some feeling of softness, when I hit pavement buckles.
  15. I'm running 33 x 12.5" on my XJ. I'm also using 8" el-cheapo steelies with a 3.75" backspacing. But, I have a love affair with the sawz-all. I trimmed about 2.5" out of the fenders, and I have it lifted 3.5" Perfect solution? Not by a long shot. But they ride smoothly, I keep them aired up to about 40 lbs. on the road. They do feel pretty heavy when rolling down the road, and Illinois' wonderful roads. They were not fun for the tire shop to balance.
  16. Going for the 4 headlight look?? I wanted to do Waggy woodgrain on my MJ, but I have yet to figure a way to do the box.

    aquariums?

I had a pair of 110 gallon fresh water aquariums, but we were expecting another kid so we sold my bungalow house on a concrete slab. Our house now is a 2-story vertical built in the early 20th century. (only 30 foot at the front, but it is 1900 sq. ft.). I couldn't justify doing all the bracing to the floor to keep the aquariums from going through the floor.
  18. Not too shabby looking..... I might have to wander up that direction(and raid your parts! :D ) I only live 90 miles south. And I want a set of those running boards(and I need a long bed cap, badly!) I had that same guard on an XJ. Its still available from Q-Tec. The rims on the white MJ look like AR-767's. If they are, they are very heavy rims. I had some 7.5"'s with 31" Dunlop Mud Rovers on them. I used to switch to a road tire after runs, but lugging those AR's and Dunlops around were just way too much to do. I stopped driving that XJ regularly.
  19. I had the same problem.... Did it when it was cold. You could turn it off, turn it back on it would be fine. Then it would do it again. Tested the TPS, according to the FSM it was good. I just lived with it(used to shut the MJ off at intersections, I have a manual, so I just used higher gears to control the RPM on the street). Finally it gave out and went to 3-4k all the time. It was a bad TPS. EDITED for spelling.(Damn, I hate my kids' computer)
  20. girls+some of my old clothes=sexyyy. don't have a clue why either. Now I know I'm getting old.... First, thing I thought was not letting my wife putting boob strech marks in my Jeep T-shirts.
  21. Sorry, I've been gone so long..... Sometimes I forget this little corner of the Jeep world is here. Not to mention my MJ is sitting in the back lot needing brakes, plates, and a battery. Any hole, one of the major reasons I've been MIA is I've been working some odd projects for my employer. I've been all over the US sleeping in hotels, eating on per diem, and driving Hyundais.(If you want to know about the Sonata, I've spent more time in them than a Jeep the last six months. And I own 4 Jeeps). I've been offered a very nice position in our Seattle office(Kent, actually). Now I'm waiting for corporate HR to figure out what I'm worth to them. Anyway, my point is... Is there good/decent/any wheeling local? After paying for a house, I'm going to be pretty damn broke. Not to much travel for me.
  22. We just refinanced at 5.61% Standard 30-yr fixed rate. We were at 6.5% No points either time. Straight thru Countrywide both times, no brokers, no fees, no bull$#!&. We did have 27% down when we bought the house though.
  23. I feel really, really lucky. Sort of..... My wife and kids all love Jeepin. She doesn't b*@$£ about wrenchin time.(Usually) We have so many things going money would be limited no matter what, so there is no complaint there. Sounds pretty rosy, huh? One problem... She wants her own Jeep. something SWB.
  24. I'd agree. But just go buy a vacuum bleeder. There about 20 bucks at Harbor Frieght. It will more than pay for itself with this job. Not to mention bleeding brakes is about 10 million times easier.
  25. And to think I was just offered a job right down the street :brows: :brows: :brows:
